About Me
About Me
I started out as a military brat, we moved around a lot. I enrolled in so many different schools its hard to keep count. So I have a varied education through grade 12.

I took a few quarters of college hear and there but I learned early that I could earn money by doing things folks needed done.

I pitched hay, cut grass, I worked tobacco, worked with cattle and hogs, I was a grounds keeper for a doctor, learned to almost fly a helicopter there. Delivered flowers, then people as a courtesy car driver, I was an EMT, worked in 3 states doing that.

When I realized I was ready for a change I moved north and hung drywall for awhile and hung out in the construction pools for events on the weekends and made pretty good money. But, running those hand tools took their toll and the doctor recommended a change of venue work wise.

That's where I learned how to really get to know people fast and build a relationship. I worked for a Safe Drivers insurance company doing door to door sales. The supervisor would drop us off in designated spots and pick us up at noon and go to lunch. At lunch we went over sales totals. If you sold something he bought lunch. If you didn't you had to pay, for your own ride home. I never paid for my ride home. :-)

I haven't punched a clock since I worked at State Stove Water Heaters and the contract pools in Chicago. Straight commission is the only way to earn what you are truly worth in your eyes. I've had some major paydays in my time and plan to have a few more. Only the future paydays are for making retirement more kind and fun.

Come along for the ride as I start over again.

Ralph White - (10/31/2016 1:09:29 PM) : About every year or two, there is a moment of truth where there's some new development in the marketplace, some new technology, some sort of existential crisis. You just have to be vigilant about looking out for those moments and learn how to profit from those new developments, when you can.
Marilu George - (10/27/2016 8:30:40 PM) : Thank you for the kind welcome, Jim. Glad we were able to connect. Understand exactly about the blue collar mind willing, but body dwindling issue. Love to do, but not something that can be done full-time. A good full varying history. That says a lot about character, abilities, and flexibility. Much respect. Best of success to you, and all the readers. Be well.

Ralph White - (5/16/2016 4:41:36 PM) : Quote Of The Day! Meditation is another dimension of natural beauty. You get peace of mind not by thinking about it, but by relaxing the restless mind. Your nature is absolute peace. Silence your mind through concentration and meditation and you will discover the peace of the spirit that you are and have always been.
Franto Hruz - (4/30/2016 10:13:47 PM) : Thanks Jim, for covering the twitter question in such detail. I have used it for a while myself. Now I have my own product with nice BONUS offers included so you can use twitter for marketing & show others how to do it - just copy this special offer here:
