Sharia Patrol Grows To Triple Digits As Police Fail To Contain Migrant Crisis

While there are world leaders who seem to ignore the threats of Europe’s migrant crisis, there are others like Angela Merkel who simply doesn’t care about getting her country harmed by the consequences of this issue in the name of multiculturalism.

Under her watch, millions of Muslim migrants have flooded Germany over the last few years. Amid a spike in rapes and many other crimes, there’s another frightening trend that is emerging within Europe’s largest economy thanks to its open borders policy and its unwillingness to acknowledge the threats of Islam: Sharia Police.

According to local police who are investigating a recent string of violence assaults in Berlin, a hundred Islamists are now openly enforcing Sharia law on the streets of the German capital. The self-appointed morality police involve Salafists from Chechnya, which is a Sunni Muslim region in Russia.

Apparently, these Islamic vigilantes are using different threats of violence in order to discourage Chechen migrants from integrating into the German society.

Apparently, these Islamic vigilantes are using different threats of violence in order to discourage Chechen migrants from integrating into the German society so they can control this group of people.

Additionally, this Sharia police is promoting the establishment of a parallel Islamic legal system in the country, and the most concerning detail is that German authorities seem to be unable to stop them.

This Sharia patrol started to get huge notoriety in May when Chechen Salafists published a video warning other Chechens in Germany that those who fail to comply with Islamic law and adat (which is a traditional Chechen code of behavior) will be brutally killed.

Russian-language independent media organization Meduza reported that all Berliners of Chechen origin are aware of the gang’s existence.

The video shows a hooded man aiming a pistol at the camera, saying in Chechen that gay men and Chechen women who marry with people of other ethnic groups will be set straight by this Sharia police.

Furthermore, the man in the video revealed that already 80 people are part of this group, and assured that they will go onto Berlin streets to make sure that Chechens comply with the Koran. This video circulated through the online messaging service WhatsApp and quickly became quite famous in the Germany’s Chechen community.

Apparently, this threatening declaration was made by a representative of a Berlin-based gang of about hundred members, led by former henchmen of Dzhokhar Dudayev, who is the late Chechen separatist leader. Russian-language independent media organization Meduza reported that all Berliners of Chechen origin are aware of the gang’s existence.

While this is a concerning issue that is already getting out of control in Berlin, this is not the first time that this kind of situation happens in Europe´s largest economy.

While this is a concerning issue that is already getting out of control in Berlin, this is not the first time that this kind of situation happens in Europe´s largest economy.

This video surfaced after nude photos of a 20-year-old Chechen woman who lives in the German capital city were sent en masse from her stolen smartphone to each person on her contact list. One hour later, the woman’s uncle demanded to speak with her parents and they agreed to solve this issue within the family by sending her back Chechnya where she would be killed in order to restore their honor.

However, German authorities intervened a couple of hours before the woman was to board a plane bound for Russia. After being placed in protective police custody, the woman’s circumstance went from being a family issue to a communal one, given the fact that it is now the responsibility of any Chechen man to find and punish her.

The woman, who radically changed her look in order to hide her identity, explained that while her acts are not of their business it is an unwritten code of conduct within Chechen community. She told that her main goal right now is to change her name and undergo plastic surgery since she assures that if you don’t take these steps they will hunt you down and kill you.

While this is a concerning issue that is already getting out of control in Berlin, this is not the first time that this kind of situation happens in Europe´s largest economy.

Back in 2014, another self-appointed Sharia police group began patrolling streets in the city of Wuppertal, hovering around sites like gambling houses and night clubs, telling passers-by to refrain from gambling and drinking any kind of alcohol.

Regarding this issue, Germany’s interior minister Thomas de Maizere told that nobody is allowed to take it upon themselves to abuse the name of the German police. Additionally, justice minister Heiko Mass said that only the state was responsible for the administration of justice in the country, and that it was quite obvious that any illegal parallel system of law enforcement would not be tolerated.

So far, authorities haven’t made any comment about this new Sharia police.

Sea Breeze: US sends missile warships, Navy SEALs to massive war games off Ukraine coast

Several US missile warships, over 800 sailors and a Navy SEALs team have arrived in the Black Sea to take part in the 12-day Sea Breeze 2017 naval exercise off Ukraine, which will include maritime forces from 16 countries.

The multinational war games are taking place in the northwestern part of the Black Sea near the Ukrainian port city of Odessa. They will feature 31 vessels, 29 aircraft and over 3,000 troops, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

Naval forces from 16 nations, including the US, Britain, Canada, France, Italy, Norway, Poland and Turkey will practice
“planning and conducting operations in compliance with NATO standards,” focusing on anti-submarine and anti-ship warfare, air defense, mine clearance and hostage rescue.

The US Navy has sent its Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser ‘USS Hue City’ and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer ‘USS Carney’, along with a P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft, the Sixth Fleet said in a press release.

Bomb disposal teams from the Naval Special Warfare Unit 2, otherwise known as Navy SEALs, as well as combat divers are also expected to arrive in Ukraine, as are some 800 US sailors and marines.

"We’re building strong relationships here which are crucial to peace and stability in the region,” said Captain Dan Gillen, a commanding officer of the ‘USS Hue City’.

“Our presence and participation in Sea Breeze bolsters confidence and reassures our allies and regional partners of our commitment to security in the Black Sea,” he added.

The exercise “is designed to enhance flexibility and interoperability, strengthen combined response capabilities, and demonstrate resolve among allied and partner nation forces to ensure stability in the Black Sea region,” the US Navy’s press release stated.

The Ukrainians, however, were more specific on their expectations from the war games. Speaking at the opening ceremony on Monday, Vice Admiral Igor Voronchenko, commander of the Ukrainian Navy, described the Black Sea as a“crisis region in light of the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and the events in Eastern Ukraine.”

The Sea Breeze drills “provide us significant support in achieving NATO standards… and manifest the desire of the Ukrainian people to enter the family of civilized peoples of the world,” he said, according to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

Following the referendum in Crimea in March 2014, in which the peninsula opted to reunite with mainland Russia, NATO states in the region have been fanning fears that the Black Sea is turning into a “Russian lake."

Since the spring of 2014, NATO warships, including US missile cruisers, have been patrolling the Black Sea on a rotational basis, never leaving the area unattended. The increased presence of NATO naval forces near Russian shores has led to mid-sea encounters involving American warships and Russian military aircraft.

Last year’s edition of Sea Breeze took place in Bulgarian waters, and involved as many as 25 warships, two planes, two helicopters and some 1,700 personnel.

US moves Patriot missiles near Russian borders in 1st Baltic deployment

The US military has deployed Patriot anti-aircraft systems to the Baltics with the stated goal of taking part in NATO war games, Lithuania’s Defense Ministry said. It’s the first such deployment to a region already in the midst of a Western military buildup.

The Patriots arrived in Lithuania as part of the ‘Tobruq Legacy 2017’ air defense drills, which will run until July 22, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said in a press release.

The exercise will involve about 500 troops and 30 various air defense systems, the ministry said, without providing details on the size of the US task force or number of Patriot batteries.

“The deployment demonstrates the steadfast US commitment to the security of Lithuania and its high readiness to send strategic capabilities to the region,” it said.

Apart from Lithuania, ‘Tobruq Legacy 2017’ will be conducted in the Czech Republic and Romania under the auspices of NATO’s Joint Force Air Component Command. It will also involve militaries from three more NATO allies: the UK, Latvia and Poland.

It is the first deployment of Patriot systems to the Baltic region amid a massive NATO military buildup.

Since the start of the Ukrainian crisis in 2014, NATO has accused Moscow of aiding the rebels who rejected the Western-backed Euromaidan coup in Kiev, and began deploying troops to the region.
The bloc’s members currently maintain several multinational battalion strike groups and air force units patrolling Baltic airspace on a rotational basis. The buildup has been followed by a series of massive military exercises on Russia’s doorstep.

The previous exercise, the 10-day ‘Iron Wolf 2017,’ took place in Lithuania in May, as part of a broader series of maneuvers. Around 5,300 troops from 10 NATO countries arrived in the country to deter Russian “aggression.”

Russia has consistently criticized NATO’s military buildup along its borders as a threat to national security. In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed NATO for stirring up a conflict with Moscow and using its “newly-declared official mission to deter Russia” as a pretext.

Also in February, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that “NATO's expansion has led to an unprecedented level of tension over the last 30 years in Europe.”

Raging wildfires across California force nearly 8,000 to evacuate: 'It was terrifying'

With a heat wave continuing to bake California and the rest of the West, wildfires forced nearly 8,000 people to dash for safety Sunday as flames destroyed homes and threatened thousands of structures across the state.

Along the Central Coast, firefighters battled two major blazes on opposite ends of Santa Barbara County. Efforts Sunday focused on protecting mountain peaks that hold crucial communication and electrical infrastructure, including a high-voltage line that carries power to Santa Barbara and neighboring cities.

The Alamo fire, near Highway 166 in northern Santa Barbara County, was the largest active fire in California and was 15% contained after burning more than 37 square miles as of Sunday evening, according to the state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. At least 200 people were forced to evacuate a remote area east of Santa Maria, and about 1,000 firefighters from Los Angeles and across the state rushed to help control the flames, Cal Fire said.

About 35 miles to the south in Santa Barbara County, more than 3,500 people have fled the Whittier fire near Lake Cachuma, which was burning just north of Goleta. The blaze scorched just over 12 square miles and burned 20 structures on both sides of Highway 154, according to officials with Los Padres National Forest.

That fire, which started about 2 p.m. Saturday, initially trapped some 80 campers at the Circle V Ranch Camp. But U.S. Forest Service firefighters reached the group later that day, said Capt. Dave Zaniboni of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

On Sunday, firefighters were aided by slightly lower temperatures — nearby Santa Ynez saw a high of 91, compared to 106 on Saturday — and favorable winds blowing in from the Pacific that halted the fire’s spread downhill toward Goleta. The blaze was moving east and west along the Santa Ynez Mountains into areas that were badly burned by two wildfires in the last decade, limiting the available fuel.

"It will act as a good buffer," said Jim Harris, deputy fire chief for Los Padres National Forest.

Harris said the firefighting effort in Santa Barbara County is in need of additional ”hotshot” fire crews with the kind of rugged engines that can navigate the steep dirt terrain where the fire is burning on the south-facing mountain slopes.

A third blaze in the Central Coast, the Stone fire, ignited Sunday just before 2 p.m. about 30 miles east of Morro Bay, according to Cal Fire’s unit in San Luis Obispo County. The fire quickly grew to 340 acres and threatened numerous structures, and was just 10% contained Sunday evening, officials said.

Meanwhile, thousands of evacuees holed up in cars and shelters over the weekend, awaiting word if they were allowed to return home.

Sarah Gustafson, who moved from Washington to California seven months ago, lives in the shadow of the Santa Ynez Mountains down a winding road between Lake Cachuma and San Marcos Pass, just off Highway 154.

She was getting her tires changed on the Santa Barbara side of the mountains Saturday when she saw a pillar of smoke rise on the other side of the range. She panicked: Her six beloved cats were trapped at home.

"It was my worst-case scenario," said Gustafson, who works at a veterinary hospital. "I wasn't home, I wasn't able to get there and I had to evacuate."

Once her tires were secure, she navigated around road closures and made her way over the mountain range as the fire exploded from 300 to more than 3,000 acres in a swath of forest that fire officials said had not burned since 1955.

"It was terrifying," she said. "The sky was orange and black. You could see flames up on the ridge. When I got home it was smokey with ash."

She managed to cram her six cats — Severus, Malfoy, Mama, Smee, Nibbles and her kitten, Gidget — into containers, then into her Toyota sedan. She spent the night in the parking lot of a shelter set up at San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara with her cats, a portable DVD player and Season 6 of “The Simpsons” to keep her company.

Elsewhere across California, more than 4,000 people were under a mandatory evacuation order as the Wall fire tore through nearly eight square miles and destroyed 10 structures in a remote part of Butte County, roughly 60 miles north of Sacramento.

Four people have been injured by the Wall fire, which was 17% contained late Sunday, Cal Fire said. The fire was “actively” burning, pushing toward the northwest and southwest and leaving another 7,400 people under evacuation warnings, the agency said.

In some places, firefighters contended with harsh heat. The Winters fire in Yolo County, which registered a high temperature of 104 degrees on Sunday, burned 2,269 acres and was 85% contained, officials said. No more evacuation orders were in place, and the cause of the blaze that ignited Thursday afternoon remained under investigation.
