Target launches gay pride products: We ‘proudly stand with the LGBT community’

May 12, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — Target stores are promoting a gay pride line of products dubbed "Take Pride" despite facing huge losses from a boycott against the company's transgender bathroom policy.

The retailer is merchandising the gay agenda for the second year in a row, with rainbow-adorned shirts, pants, shorts, swim trunks, iPhone cases, and other items honoring Gay "Pride Month" in June.

The gay-affirming merchandise is accompanied by a promotional flyer with the promise: "For each PRIDE item sold, Target will donate 50 percent of the purchase price to GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network)."

When Target began its "Take Pride" line of merchandise, the company issued a statement:

"We’re making our message loud and clear: Target proudly stands with the LGBT community … through all that we do," Laysha Ward, Target’s executive vice president and chief corporate responsibility officer, boasted. She cited gay demonstration "volunteer efforts" and "partnerships" with homosexual groups such as the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network "to the very products we carry in our stores and online."

Target's "Take Pride" promotional campaign follows a controversial transgender bathroom policy allowing men to use women's restrooms, changing rooms, intimate facilities, and vice versa. The corporate giant also eliminated all gender references in its toy and bedding departments, taking down "boys" and "girls" signs to support gender fluidity.

In 2015, Target signed a "friend of the court" supporting homosexual "marriage." Their commercial for a “Made to Matter” line of products featured two gay men painting with a child.

The homosexual-affirming policies resulted in a massive boycott (#BoycottTarget, #FlushTarget) of the retailer by an estimated 1.5 million customers and declining Target stock value.

The transgender bathroom policy also resulted in complaints of sex offenses in Target changing rooms and bathrooms in California, Idaho, New Hampshire, Oregon, Texas, Washington state, and Ontario.

The American Family Association (AFA) noted that dramatically declining sales and stock value forced Target to cancel expansion plans, fire five top executives, and cut CEO Brian Cornell's salary by one-third.

NATO and Russia Carry Out War Games in Show of Strength Across the Globe

NATO commanders put on a show of strength during a tank competing exercise in Germany, as Russia flexed its muscles by parachuting tanks onto a battlefield. Six Nato allies competed in the Strong Europe Tank Challenge in the town of Grafenwoehr yesterday, with Austria coming first to beat France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and the USA. The competition, held for its second time, tested soldiers on vehicle identification, battle damage assessment and precision manoeuvres.

Lt Gen, Ben Hodges, the commander of US Army Europe, has said the competition was designed to help build a team spirit between the six nations. Nato, increasingly at odds with Russia over their perceived ambitions in Europe, held the event across five days. A swarm of giant jellyfish has washed ashore on beaches stopping visitors and locals alike in their tracks.

The swarm of barrel jellyfish washed in at Freshwater West, Pembrokeshire on Friday afternoon.

Other sightings have taken place in Tenby, Saundersfoot, Ceredigion and Newport.

Thousands of jellyfish have washed up in what a conservationist has described as a “mega swarm”.

Sarah Perry from Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre said: “This is definitely a mega swarm. I have never seen them this big before.”

She said the creatures do wash up each year but added that this was “unusual because of the number on our shores and the size of them”.

Ms Perry said she believed the recent warm weather had sparked the boom in jellyfish, which can grow up to 35in in diameter.

Numbers have grown in recent years because of mild winters allowing plankton, their main food source, to thrive.

Holidaymaker Wilson Dyer, from Suffolk, said: “I’ve been holidaying here for 40 years and I’ve never seen this before.

“They’re all the way up the Cardigan Bay coast. It’s intriguing, it looks like they all keeled over at the same time.”

Conservationist Ms Perry said the abundance of washed up jellyfish could attract feeding leatherback turtles which would be an “amazing sight”.

She encouraged the public not to move or touch the jellyfish.

“While they’re relatively harmless they can, if touched, leave you with a rash similar to what you may get after touching a stingy nettle,” she said.

It is thought that the supersize jellies may have been caused by milder winters- these have led to an abundance of plankton, the animals’ main food source.

Jellyfish themselves are the main food source for leather back turtles, sometimes spotted in Pembrokeshire waters. Conservationists are waiting with baited breath to see if these will follow to feast on the mega swarm.

WikiLeaks Destroys Russian Conspiracy Theory, Offers $100K For Trump-Comey Tapes

Amid the comedic, frightening, and altogether peculiar aftermath of Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey, WikiLeaks — which had previously been branded, via a wild conspiracy theory, a tool of the Russian Federation for publishing scores of documents on Hillary Clinton and virtually none pertaining to the president — has now offered a bounty of $100,000 for recordings from the Oval Office of the pair’s communications prior to that termination.

In fact, the publishing icon included a QR code with its tweet announcing the hefty reward, and encouraged supporters — or those wondering what actually happened — to donate and up the ante to convince trepidatious whistleblowers to fork over video footage.

“WikiLeaks offers US$100k for the Trump-Comey tapes,” the publisher tweeted. “You can increase the reward via most methods at https://wikileaks.org/donate (tell us).”

That generous offer was also proffered to Facebook users, where WikiLeaks included its address for (currently skyrocketing in value) Bitcoin.

Much of the to-do was in response to the U.S. president’s veritable temper tantrum on Twitter this morning, in which he underhandedly if impotently threatened,

James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer later refused to confirm or deny the existence of any tapes from that Oval Office conversation, while trying to placate the uproarious American spectacle sparked by the president’s rant — telling the press Trump’s threatening tweet, in fact, evidently was “not a threat,” and adding simply,

The President has nothing further to say on that.

Democrats from both the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees demanded the release of any existent recordings to Congress, as Representatives John Conyers Jr. and Elijah Cummings stated,

Under normal circumstances, we would not consider credible any claims that the White House may have taped conversations of meetings with the president. However, because of the many false statements made by White House officials this week, we are compelled to ask whether any such recordings do in fact exist.

In a letter to White House counsel Donald McGahn, CNN reports, the two ranking members of their respective committees requested copies of all recordings between Trump and the terminated head of the FBI, noting — also without a threat,

It is a crime to intimidate or threaten any potential witness with the intent to influence, delay, or prevent their official testimony.
The President’s actions this morning — as well as his admission yesterday on national television that he fired Director Comey because he was investigating Trump campaign officials and their connections to the Russian government — raise the specter of possible intimidation and obstruction of justice. The President’s actions also risk undermining the ongoing criminal and counter-intelligence investigations and the independence of federal law enforcement agencies.

Between firing Comey and undertaking a one-man Twitter storm, the president must have missed WikiLeaks’ response to his non-threat, which seemed to suggest the former FBI chief pass along those Oval Office video souvenirs, replying,

If there are–you know where to send them: wikileaks.org/#submit.

It would seem WikiLeaks handily proved its detractors — those convinced by anti-Russia, pro-U.S. propaganda its fidelity lies with Donald Trump and not pure facts — completely wrong in offering a reward for tapes which feasibly would paint the president in a light as sour as that experienced by Hillary Clinton upon the publication of damaging leaks.

With political fallout still smoldering, the Trump administration has likely run out its believability in attempted deflections on the Comey matter, as an impatient corporate and alternative press awaits the next revelation — from WikiLeaks or the president’s Twitter account, depending — as if on pins and needles for the next episode of a demented, dystopian cable series.

In the meantime, the growing bounty offered by WikiLeaks to entice a whistleblower — perhaps even Comey, himself — to step forward with the recordings of one of the most talked about terminations of a public official since ol’ Tricky Dick, former President Richard Nixon, abruptly removed the Watergate special prosecutor in 1973.

And we all know how swimmingly that oh-so similar ploy worked for Nixon.
