Stephen: History was created this week when much revered Washington Post left the Graham family fold just days after the Boston Globe changed ownership. It likely means a new era in reporting for both papers. Meanwhile, Rupert Murdoch – who has made no secret of the fact he wants his almost-monopolistic Australian newspaper group to stop Prime Minister Kevin Rudd from being re-elected – appears to have shuffled his not-so-long-in-the- job but ever-so-loyal Australian head of News Corp out the door.

Story 1: A Closer Look at the New Owners of the Boston Globe and Washington Post

Late last week, the Globe was sold by its owner, the New York Times Company, for $70 million in cash to investor and big-time Democratic donor John W. Henry.

A few days later, the Graham family — which owned the Washington Post since saving it from bankruptcy in 1933 — sold the ailing newspaper to Jeff Bezos, chief executive officer of Amazon.com, Inc., sometimes described as a “liberaltarian” who has donated money predominantly but not exclusively to Democrats.

The value of newspapers has been steadily falling for many years, even before Rupert Murdoch paid $5.2 billion for the Wall Street Journal’s parent company, Dow Jones & Co., six years ago.

Prior to selling it to Henry, the Times had purchased the Globe company in 1993 for $1.1 billion. Adjusted for inflation, the New England Media Group operation was sold for just under 4 percent of the original sale price. The all-cash deal did not include an assumption of the company’s pension debts of about $110 million, which will remain with the Times Company.

According to published reports, a few other people were interested in purchasing the Globe, including ex-Time Inc. CEO Jack Griffin, in partnership with cousins Steven and Ben Taylor, whose family once owned the newspaper.

Another person who tried to buy the newspaper was John Lynch, owner of the U-T San Diego (formerly the San Diego Union Tribune), who claimed that his company outbid Henry and would have gone even higher if he had to.

“I’m just stunned,” he said. “I thought this was a public company that had a fiduciary duty to get the most by its stockholders.”

One of the deciding factors in the decision to sell to the owner of the Boston Red Sox baseball team may be the fact that Henry is a long-time Democratic donor and activist. According to his donation records, he has given more than $1.1 million to Democratic candidates and special interest groups while a single $1,000 contribution went to a lone Republican. Lynch, meanwhile, is an outspoken conservative, one of the few media moguls who lean right outside of talk radio.

“The sale to John W. Henry is the result of a very full and active sales process,” New York Times spokeswoman Abbe Serphos said.

“In reviewing bids, we took many factors into consideration and at the end of the process concluded, along with our board of directors, that this agreement to sell the New England Media Group to Mr. Henry was in the best interest of our shareholders as well as of the Boston Globe, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and the Boston community.”

Back in Washington, Post publisher Katharine Weymouth, niece of chairman Don Graham, explained that seven years of declining sales, triggered by an industry-wide advertising slump, ultimately pushed the family to sell.

“This is a day that my family and I never expected to come,” she said in a letter to readers. “The Washington Post Co. is selling the newspaper it has owned and nurtured for eight decades.”

Meanwhile, Bezos’s political philosophy has been under the microscope. According to an article by Jennifer Harper in the Washington Times, his personal donations have favored Democrats — $28,000 to $5,000 for Republicans — since 1998.

However, his overal political record leaves the new owner of the Washington Post “a bit of an enigma — a liberal-leaning libertarian with a touch of free market philosophy,” Harper stated.

She added:

The Atlantic magazine has called him a “liberaltarian,” a term coined in 2006 by the Cato Institute for those seeking social freedoms, retooled economic policies and tax reform.

To allay any fears the Post staff may have due to his complex political background, Bezos released this statement:

I understand the critical role the Post plays in Washington, D.C., and our nation, and the Post’s values will not change. Our duty to readers will continue to be the heart of the Post, and I am very optimistic about the future.

In an article on the Post’s website, Sean Sullivan discussed the politics of his new boss.

First, Bezos donated $2.5 million to the campaign to defend same-sex marriage in Washington state, where he and wife MacKenzie live.

Even though he has been described as a libertarian, Bezos has mostly donated to Democratic candidates, including the state’s two Democratic senators, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell.

He’s also given money over the years to Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) and Sen. Patrick Leahy, (D-Vt.), both of whom have served on either the House or Senate judiciary committees, which often address Internet-related issues that might interest the owner of Amazon.com.

As NewsBusters previously reported, it’s much more difficult for a conservative to buy a major newspaper than a counterpart on the political left.

For example, when billionaire conservative philanthropists David Koch and Charles Koch expressed interest in buying the company that owns the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune, liberals across the country went apoplectic.

If there’s a moral to this sad story, it’s this: Ten years ago, the Washington Post was worth $2 billion. On Monday, it sold for $250 million, an 87 percent loss. Could having a conservative presence in the newspaper have resulted in an outcome any worse than that?

Story 2: Kim Williams Quits News Corp

Kim Williams has resigned as chief executive of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp Australia, just 20 months after he took on the top post.

He will be succeeded by Julian Clarke, who has a strong publishing background and was most recently chairman of The Herald and Weekly Times.

Mr Murdoch said in a statement that he was thankful for Mr Williams’ services to News Corp, as well as his loyalty and friendship to the company.

“Kim has been a steady and courageous leader at a time when our businesses have faced unprecedented pressure and economic challenges,” he said. “I want to thank him for his unwavering commitment, and the blood, sweat and tears he has put into News Corp Australia.”

Mr Murdoch said Mr Clarke was an accomplished leader in the media industry and has been associated with News Corp’s operations for more than 30 years.

“I am so pleased to have Julian taking the helm at News Corp Australia,” he said. “He is an experienced executive with a unique understanding of our company’s culture, and the immense energy and clarity of vision necessary to drive our properties forward at this challenging time for all media in all countries.”

Position under a cloud

Mr Williams was appointed chief executive in December 2011, after 10 years as chief executive of Australia’s dominant pay TV operator Foxtel, which is half owned by News Corp Australia.

His position at News Corp Australia had come under a cloud after controversial editor Col Allan returned to Sydney late last month to provide News Corp’s Australian publications with “extraeditorial [sic] leadership” over the coming months.

The chief executive of News Corp, Robert Thomson, said Mr Williams, a 20-year veteran at News Corp, felt that “now is the right moment to leave the company”.

“Kim leaves a remarkable, sustaining legacy at these companies and on modern media in Australia,” Mr Thomson said.

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp recently broke up into two parts – a publishing firm and a film and television unit. The entertainment firm is called called 21st Century Fox while the publishing company retained the name News Corp.

The split was expected to increase scrutiny on the newspapers under the publishing business, as the media industry battles a decline in print advertising and the rise of internet readership.

We see how the Light is rising more each day on your planet and also feel how you are getting more into the oneness with her, which allows Mother Earth to clear the remains of negative energies. There will be some weather changes necessary but surely no catastrophes as some still want you to believe. Focus yourselves on positive energies that are coming your way and let all the doubts be cleared and gone, as everyone is exactly on the right place and moment in time to experience that, what they have planned, before coming to this life. Everything is as it should be and blaming or accusing others would help no one, especially those involved in such experience. Instead send Love and Light to them or to the places where these changes are happening and you will surely see the effect immediately. Keep your focus on unconditional love, because this is the energy that will carry you forward. You have had enough experiences with anger and hate so you are now able to see the difference of the outcome.

We are just a thought away and we are always with you. We see some of you struggling still with when and how we come and we again tell you that we are coming in the right moment and you should put all the worries behind. This is the moment and all is set and ready and you need to only allow manifesting it into your reality. Doubts of course are not very helpful in this process, so let yourself truly feel the beauty and glory of that what is coming. Let your mind look into future for some moments throughout your busy day and we know that you will feel it being so close that it will make you smile. Enjoy these moments, as you will remember them for very long time as the most beautiful experiences of many lifetimes.

Get yourself ready for the next part of your ascension process because your life will be swiftly changing without any unnecessary stopping, of course if you do not wish to do so. It will be amazing ride upwards to the state of full consciousness and to the state of blissful being that we have so many times been speaking of. Remember all of that we have told you and keep telling you and we feel that you feel the excitement of being part of it. We will shortly be speaking directly to you, have no doubts, as we know how important are information to you. Trust yourself that you have made such leap forward that now you are ready to receive much more information without getting worried. Those who do not wish to receive them will simply ignore them as every other such information, until they will be ready for them. Do not worry about anyone, as they chose to stay for more experience in lower vibrations and would not feel comfortable within higher ones, but love will always remain and you are helping them with your higher vibrations to understand their choices, also when it seems they have absolutely closed their minds to accept it. Galactic Federation of Light: It is always with the greatest of Love that we do so.

One of the translators wanted to me to ask you about Muhammad and Islam and wanted more explanation for they felt there was a missing piece to the story. Are you able to speak on this?

We would find it more fitting to not speak of this … or indeed any religious matters. This is not meant to offend the questioner in anyway … and yet we would state that SO VERY MUCH IN ALL RELIGIONS is not what it is given to be. In that … so much of what is considered TRUTH that is written and passed down through many many generations has been tampered with to suit ‘the times’.

The questioner may or may not find what we are about to say a satisfactory answer

Throughout your history wars have been battled … lives have been lost … arguments debated … all for the purpose of saying that ‘Their God’ is the correct one.

I am struggling a little for I feel you about to say ‘There is no God’ and as much as I do not FEEL God is a person … I FEEL it is an energy of Love … why would you say ‘There is no God?’ Am I right in thinking that is what you wanted to say?

To a little degree … yet perhaps you jumped the gun! We were to advise that there is no God in the sense that many consider God to be.

When those in your world KNOW of the text ‘GOD IS LOVE’ … then this … from our point of view of offering wisdom … is a far more accurate statement.

The more one grasps this as TRUTH the more understanding of self one shall accomplish.

So therefore … we consider it ill advisable to discuss matters of religion.

That is not to say that many many many enlightened Beings of the Highest form have not walked amongst you. Their teachings at the time were plain to see. Yet as we stated earlier … through time … much which was of Truth has been distorted in order for fear and control to precede any ideas of the TRUTH and WONDERMENT of the self.

We would say to you that YOU SHALL ALL KNOW GOD … in the sense … YOU SHALL ALL KNOW LOVE … in its Highest form … for you are of/from it.

In the days ahead as your Beings delight in the KNOWING of the reason you are upon this Earthly plane in your Earthly form … you shall not only discover that YOU ARE GOD … you shall accept the position you find yourselves in and glory and revel within that status.

That which is to transpire shall depend upon YOU. Each one of YOU.

Again we say … YOU ARE THE ONES YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.

Could you elaborate on that a little? I am assuming that it means that when we advance to a certain awareness of heart and thought, then we will ‘get’ that there was no need to ‘await the assistance’ of Beings from ‘elsewhere’ … because all that we need is within us .

This is correct and yet that is not to say that visitations from ‘off world Beings’ will not enhance the process. For we say in all Love and respect … You will be in much appreciation as these days draw closer to your ‘link ups’ with one another. For the advanced life forms … both in Love and of technical knowledge … will ‘blow your minds’

Yet these friends that are to visit you … shall be fully recognisable for they were agreeable to the plan when it was first formed and therefore have been known to you since the beginning.

How wonderful that you are now so very close to the ‘meeting up’ once again … where all can rejoice and say ‘We did it’!

How wonderful indeed. May we change the subject? Many would like you to speak about addictions and why some seem more susceptible to ‘attachments’ to such things as alcohol, cigarettes and both light and heavy drugs. Would you care to share thoughts about this?

This is quite an involved subject matter yet we understand that for many there is need to delve into such a topic.

There are many reasons why a soul becomes involved initially with a particular ‘assistant’… if we may term it such. It is the nature of the drug of course … in many instances to be addictive in order to ‘destroy ‘ … we speak here in the case of your cigarettes. Whereas with such ‘potions’ as alcohol … it is not that there is the addictive chemical involved … the need for more comes … because one enjoys the escape … to begin with . It is when one allows the drink or drug to control them … rather than the other way around … that the issue lies.

Yet no one WANTS to be a drug addict or an alcoholic … so why is it that some ‘fall for it’ and some do not?

That would be a question that has many answers.

Can you give us a few?

Self-doubt … where the drink or drug offers confidence.

Manipulation … where the drug serves to convince the soul that they function so much better ‘with it’ than ‘without it’.

Burial of past misdemeanours … where the chosen ‘outlet’ blocks off any remembrance of unwanted memories.

Denial … when one simply ‘chooses’ to accept that they have any of the above problems.

All in all for the soul that has an addiction … it is a journey they chose. They have the choice always to release themselves from it or to remain with it. It is a decision of yes or no! As unwelcome as that sounds to many … that is the answer in its simplicity.

So clearly, a soul before incarnating would not choose to be an addict.

How do you know?

Why would they?

Because of the soul lessons it can bring them.

Yet if they had any sense they would find another path.

Not if that path was the quickest way to reach an understanding of themselves. Yet there would of course be the risk that they were unable to undo the addiction once the lesson was accomplished. There would be the ‘danger’ of that … yet a risk one may choose to take.

Are you able to understand that a life path that one may choose may seem to be ‘most out of sorts’ to one soul … yet to another it is a necessary one in order to evolve and grow around a given matter that they had not been able to grasp in lives past . Whether one falls along the way side on purpose is not the issue. The struggle for the soul would be to recognise that a matter is accomplished and then ‘get back on board’ so to speak. Some sadly … become too lost in their quest and do not … as they had planned … find their way out in that given life time.

Yet … we say to you … and some may find these words ‘heartless’ yet they of course are not … IT REALLY DOESN’T MATTER!

Life is eternal … It is an experiment … It is a game … There is always another and another and another to be played. Sometimes you win … sometimes you lose … UNTIL … such a time when the loosing ceases … for all lessons have been learned and there is no need for repetition to ‘cement’ a KNOWING.

In your world when you play the same game over and over … eventually one gets bored of it and moves on/changes to a different game.

The time is coming dearest friends when ‘THE GAME IS UP’. This particular game.

It is time for a new one to fall into place and with it comes the excitement of something new.

As one learns the rules and how to play … one simply becomes more skilled with each throw of the dice … with each opportunity to advance

SOULS OF EARTH.

Therefore … we say to you … BE AWARE … for when THE CHANGE arrives it will most likely take your BEINGS by total surprise … and you will say ‘YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN US THE HEADS UP’ and we shall say ‘WE DID … BUT YOU DIDN’T BELIEVE US’!

Thanks to Dennis Tuma of Sedona for this one. I post it with a wee bit of trepidation because it talks about a time of purification and I wouldn’t want to excite fears in anyone that there will somehow be a catastrophe for the world. There won’t be. But we are in fact going through that time of purification at the present time.

The cleansing of the air of radioactivity has already taken place. The galactics have cleansed it of nuclear radiation and depleted uranium. I asked Archangel Michael recently if the planet would have died had the galactics not removed the depleted uranium from the air and he replied that it would have because Gaia would have given up in the face of it.

I believe I’m correct in saying that this should not be taken as the actual Hopi Prophecy but as one person’s interpretation of it. The author of this piece appears unaware of everything connected with the Ascension scenario so you’ll have to factor that in to the later prophecies.

The Hopi Prophecy

The Hopi Native Americans of the American Southwest have an ancient prophecy that has long foreseen the destruction of our present world through a purification by fire. You will know the times for this purification are at hand when a series of prophecies known as the “final warnings” are fulfilled.The first set of warnings were meant to alert the Hopi elders of a future time when the purification of the world was at hand; after which,they were expected to break their silence and warn the world of a second set of predictions hastening the onset of the purification of the world by fire.

Here is the first set of warnings:

THE WARNING: An iron horse will come to the land of the red man.

THE FULFILLMENT: This is the train. It appeared in the 19th century

THE WARNING: The white man will raise metal wires into the skies.

THE FULFILLMENT: These are telegraph lines of the 19th and later the power lines of the 20th century.

THE WARNING: Cobwebs will crisscross the skies.

THE FULFILLMENT: These are the contrails of planes and jets. [Steve: Probably chemtrails as well.]

THE WARNING: The powers of the red, the swastika, and the sun will threaten turtle island.

THE FULFILLMENT: North America seen from space looks like the outline ofa turtle. (Do not ask me how pre-Columbian seers knew that.) In World War II and in the Cold War that followed, these three “powers” did threaten North America. The swastika of the Nazis and later the “red”forces of the Communists of Russia and China beset Turtle Island. The powers of the sun did directly scorch the earth of native lands when the white man tested his atomic bombs in Nevada and New Mexico near the Hopi sacred lands in Arizona.

THE WARNING: The white man will create a Gourd of Ashes that will lay waste to the land and keep it infertile for generations.

THE FULFILLMENT: These are atomic bombs. Radiation is the sterilizing plague.

THE WARNING: The fulfillment of this first set of signs will warrant the Hopi Elders end their long silence and spread their prophetic message that the great purification is at hand. They will share their message and their wisdom to the people of the world so that everyone could prepare or soften its blow upon the earth.

THE FULFILLMENT: Indeed over 50 years ago, the Hopi Elders agreed that the first wave of signs had all been fulfilled. They therefore began warning the world about the prophecies of a coming purification. Some of the elders, such as Thomas Banyaca, have explained the prophecies on national television and spoke before the entire delegation of the United Nations.Now comes the second set of final warnings:

THE WARNING: A tribe of red hat and red cloaked people would come ingreat numbers from the East, traveling through the air. They would colonize the Western American lands and then scatter and disappear.

THEFULFILLMENT: The Tibetans came calling on the Hopi Elders when the first three precursory signs in their own 1,200 year old prophecy concerning the transplantation of their religion to America were fulfilled.This prophecy coming from Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, says, “When the iron bird flies (airplanes) and the horse runs on wheels (cars), the Tibetan people will be scattered like ants across the face of the Earth, and the Dharma will come to the land of the red men.

“Since the 1970s, the Dalai Lama and a number of marooned robed priests fulfilled Hopi prophecy by regularly paying a visit to the Hopi elders and moving on. Many Hopi’s also believe a later visitation in the 1980sof red cloaked and capped followers of Bhagwan Rajneesh coming in their thousands to Eastern Oregon completes the prophecy. Even a handful of Rajneeshees, aware of the prophecy, paid a visit to the Hopi elder-in-chief, Grandfather David Monongye, in 1985, before they and their fellow red clothed travelers soon vanished from sight. THE WARNING: The white man will steal rocks from the moon. This is a danger sign, that we are in the final days before the purification.

THE FULFILLMENT: The Apollo moon landings unearthed (or should I say”un-mooned?”) hundreds of pounds of moon rocks, taking them back to Earth. Indeed I saw one sitting under glass in the United Nations, just outside the main theater where the Hopi Elders shared their prophecies to the full United Nations delegation just a few years before.

THE WARNING: The white man will build a permanent house in the sky.This is the final warning before the purification.

THE FULFILLMENT: MIR may have blazed its way down to the sea in fragments, but the far more permanent International Space Station traverses our skies today. It will be fully operational in a few more years. One could argue that it is already operational and therefore the times of the purification have come. And now we are in the cycle of the animal coming to the end of that and beginning the cycle of the human being. When we get into the cycle of the human being, the highest and greatest powers that we have will be released to us.

At the beginning of this cycle of time, long ago, the Great Spirit made an appearance and gathered the peoples of this earth together, and said to the human beings, “I’m going to send you to four directions, and overtime I’m going to change you to four colors, but I’m going to give you some teachings, and you will call these the Original Teachings; when you come back together with each other, you will share these so that you can live and have peace on earth, and a great civilization will come about. During the cycle of time, I’m going to give each of you two stone tablets. When I give you those stone tablets, don’t cast them upon the ground. If any of the sisters and brothers cast their tablets on theg round, not only will human beings have a hard time, but almost the earth itself will die.”

And so He gave each of us a responsibility, and we call that the Guardianship. To the Indian people, the red people, He gave the Guardianship of the Earth. We were to learn during this cycle of time the teachings of the earth, the plants that grow from the earth, the foods that you can eat, and the herbs that heal so that, when we came back together with the other sisters and brothers, we could share this knowledge with them. Something good was to happen on the earth. To the South He gave the yellow race of people the Guardianship of the Wind. They were to learn about the sky and breathing and how to take that within ourselves for spiritual advancement. They were to share that with us at this time.

To the West He gave the black race of people the Guardianship of the Water. They were to learn the teachings of the water, which is the chief of the elements, being the most humble and the most powerful. The elders have told me that the black people would bring the teachings of the water.

To the North He gave the white race of people the Guardianship of the Fire. If you look at the center of many of the things they do, you will find the fire. They say a light bulb is the white man’s fire. If you look at the center of a car you will find a spark. If you look at the center of the airplane and the train you will find the fire. The fire consumes, and also moves. This is why it was the white sisters and brothers who began to move upon the face of the earth and reunite us as a human family.

And so a long time passed, and the Great Spirit gave each of the four races two stone tablets. Ours are kept at the Hopi Reservation in Arizona at Four Corners Area on Third Mesa. I talked to people from the black race, and their stone tablets are at the foot of Mount Kenya. They are kept by the Kukuyu Tribe.

I was at an Indian spiritual gathering about 15 years ago. A medicine man from South Dakota put a beaded medicine wheel in the middle of the gathering. It had the four colors from the four directions; he asked the people, “Where is this from?” They said, “Probably Montana, or South Dakota, maybe Saskatchewan.” He said, “This is from Kenya.” It was beaded just like ours, with the same colors.

God’s plan is brilliant, beautiful, perfect. Here in the spiritual realms we are in constant delighted amazement as it continues to unfold just as He intends. For you on the Earth plane, engrossed in your illusory reality, it is and will remain totally beyond comprehension – in fact, the vast majority of you are unaware that God’s plan even exists.

Do not ask “Which plan?” in a puzzled voice, because there is only One Plan: God’s Plan – which is the creative energy field in which all that He intends occurs. And all that He intends always occurs precisely according to that plan. Humanity’s awakening is an aspect of that plan and will, therefore, happen exactly as Divinely willed and intended.

Your guides, mentors, and channels in the spiritual realms have been keeping you up-to-date on the aspects that affect you directly. So pay attention, listen to their advice and guidance, take it to heart and act on it.

As humanity’s eons-long wait to awaken draws to a close, it can be very uplifting for you to reflect on the amazing progress your spiritual evolution has made in the last three or four decades. If you compare the amount of spiritual information available to you now via many sources, compared to what was available in the 1960s, the growth is phenomenal. And following on from that is the enormous rise in the numbers of people seeking to live more lovingly, more consciously, and more compassionately.

Humanity is impatient to awaken, very impatient – which is fine because the sooner you awaken the better – but when you consider the eons that the illusion has existed in comparison to a human life time, your impatience does seem a little out of place, remembering also that these eons have lasted, in Reality, but a moment. So, instead of focusing on hopefully waiting for some future event, live in the now, then savor every moment of it, because that is when life happens.

You could look back over your lives and recall something to which, at the time, you were enthusiastically looking forward or, conversely, dreading, and maybe recall as well an occasion or opportunity that happened during the time that you were waiting, which you let slip by, largely unappreciated, and which later maybe caused you much regret. Life is now, so forget the waiting, which can be a grave distraction, a disincentive that arrests you, stops you in your tracks, when you could be enjoying life!

Worry is an aspect of fear, and joy is an aspect of Love, but only Love is Real! Focus on Love, change yourselves, and thereby change the world. Changing yourselves and thereby changing the world is in fact precisely what you are doing, but it never hurts to intensify your focus on Love by refocusing frequently, i.e. by bringing your attention back to Love whenever It comes to mind.

As with any regular practice, the more you practise the easier it becomes and the more you want to do it as your skill and enjoyment increases. When you allow Love to guide you, life flows far more smoothly, and any upsets or disappointments you experience are more easily dealt with. They seem somehow much less important, as of course they are! Remember you are confined within an illusion, where nothing that occurs is truly Real, and the bubble that is the illusion is about to burst.

Reality, your true Home, is about to be revealed after being hidden from your view, your awareness, your knowledge by your choice to lurk in the illusion among all that gloom and fear. The clouds are lifting, the Light is brightening as you change the focus of your attention from the unreal to Love, the all-embracing field of Divine energy in which you have your eternal existence. As the Light intensifies it will be impossible for you to keep your eyes closed, let alone remain asleep.

Your natural state is fully awake, fully aware, fully conscious, and, therefore, knowing God.
