Your health is one of the most important things that you can focus on throughout your life. Unfortunately, not everyone takes it very seriously and many people live much of their lives feeling lethargic and in full of pain. Despite the fact that food and medicine is more readily available than at any time in history, the quality is typically questionable at best. In a world filled with toxins and more ways than ever to avoid exercise, the biggest health question becomes not how to cure disease, but how to prevent it while living a productive, healthy life.

If you’re looking to improve your health and in turn improve your quality of life, try following these 8 easy steps.

1. Eat Complete Proteins

It’s fairly easy to fall into the trap of getting poor nutrition. With the way that the food system has established itself in America, finding someone who gets enough vitamins and trace minerals is hard to come by, but less so due to a rising demand for health-conscious foods.

First of all, try as best you can to make sure that you’re getting enough complete proteins. If you’re vegan or vegetarian then you’re going to need to get all of your amino acids from foods like quinoa, hummus, Bragg’s, hemp seed/milk, or a combination of beans and rice. For non-vegans, milk, eggs, and meats also offer complete proteins. Without proper protein consumption, your body will not be able to build and repair tissue properly or produce hormones, enzymes, or certain other body chemicals the way that it should.

2. Make Sure to Get Enough Vitamins

Vitamins are important for a variety of reasons. Depending on which one you’re deficient in, you could feel tired, suffer from a loss of appetite, mood swings, or chapped lips (amongst other things). A balanced diet will usually supply you with enough vitamins, but many people can benefit from taking supplements as well.

The two most common vitamin deficiencies are B-12 and D3. B-12 is needed for the formation of DNA in the body as well as the manufacturing of red blood cells and the normal function of nerve cells. D3 is essential to aid in bone growth as well as regulate your mood. Vitamin D is produced by the body when exposed to sunlight, but can also be obtained through milk and fish.

3. Avoid Pharmaceutical “Medicine”

Much of what has been discovered in the world of medicine over the past hundred years has ultimately led to longer lifespans and new treatments for diseases which could have only been dreamed of before. However, a lot of what we get from the sphere of modern medicine is quite unsafe.

One study from the Journal of American Medical Association shows us that 1 in 3 drugs which were approved by the FDA from 2001 to 2010 were found to be associated with significant safety issues after being tested on patients. As alarming as this statistic is, you don’t have to play that game of Russian roulette if you don’t want to. Research is increasingly showing that a variety of medicinal herbs such as cannabis, turmeric, and more are actually highly beneficial when used as medicine.

4. Quit Smoking and Stay Off Cigarettes

If you care about staying alive then you probably don’t want to be smoking cigarettes. But if you already do, then quitting could be one of the single biggest achievements in your quest for lifelong health and overall well-being.

According to the CDC, cigarettes cause over 480,000 deaths per year just in the United States, which accounts for nearly 1 in 5 overall deaths. That’s more than all vehicle, gun, alcohol, drug, and HIV related deaths combined. The consequences from smoking cigarettes can include heart and lung disease, yellow teeth and nails, lowered fertility (even in men), birth defects,type 2 diabetes, lowered immune function, and cancer.

Also, cigarettes are loaded with heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and cadmium, which cause everything from kidney damage, to fragile bones, behavior problems, and even lowered IQ. Needless to say, if you smoke, then quitting should be number one of your to-do list, and if you don’t, then to stay off of them should be.

5. Start Exercising

Exercise can be hard to do, especially if you don’t have the motivation. However, just doing a small amount exercise a day can give you the inspiration to keep improving.

Although exercising can be difficult to start, the benefits are well worth it. In addition toreducing excess fat, exercise can tone muscle, lower your chance of heart disease, improve energy and mood as well as promote more restful sleep. Even simply walking in nature can help the body and mind rejuvenate. People who are prone to depression should make it an even greater priority as science is beginning to call exercise an “elixir for depression.” Running is a great way to get some exercise while also not spending much money.

6. Reduce Screen Time

Science is beginning to show us the effect that too much screen time has on our health. Onelarge population-based study from 2013 shows us that every 1.2 hours of television time for children of 29 months resulted in poorer social, vocabulary, math and motor skills, as well as an increase in the likelihood of being bullied. According to research from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, screen time before bed impacts not only your ability to fall asleep, but how tired you are the next day. Research also points to the notion that too much screen timedamages parts of the brain associated with attention, decision-making, cognitive control and more.

7. Avoid GMO’s and Artificial Foods

Although some pundits in the scientific arena like to defend GMO’s as “no different from conventional breeding,” they are in fact one of the most insidious scientific advancements of the 20th and 21st centuries thus far.

As more than 40 rodent feeding studies have shown us, GMO’s are highly dangerous to us and our bodies. As clean food activist Jeffery Smith’s Institute for Responsible Technology puts it, “Several animal studies indicate serious health risks associated with genetically modified (GM) food,’ including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, faulty insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system.”

In fact, GMO’s are so new that almost no long-term studies exist to show us whether or not they are safe. The best that can be done is to declare, as a group of scientists from Environmental Sciences Europe have, that there is “no scientific consensus on GMO safety.” However, if you aren’t eating organic you’re likely to be eating GMO’s on a daily basis, not knowing what side effects may arise.

Other artificial foods such as fake sugars are also being found to be dangerous. Try getting back to a natural, organic diet as much as possible and avoid anything fake or artificially “low fat.” Remember that the organic label is regulated and must follow certain guidelines, while the label “all natural” is basically meaningless as it has no regulatory backing.

8. Get a Regular Sleeping Pattern Down

Getting enough sleep is important, but it is equally important to be on a regular sleeping schedule. Because your sleep schedule helps regulate the nervous system, it in turn regulates mood as well. Studies have even shown that establishing solid sleeping and eating patternscan aid people with bipolar disorder. Studies also show that going to bed at the same time every day and getting up at the same time helps regulate your internal clock.

Your health is essential to your own well-being and productivity, as well as your ability to fend off disease. It doesn’t take a lot of money or even time to achieve higher levels of health, but it does take the knowledge of how to do it. Americans tend to have a deficiency in their health which is why self-help and weight loss gurus have come and gone throughout the past few decades (and made a fortune). However, you can avoid all of that by following a few common-sense guidelines that everyone can do without dieting fads or expensive fitness equipment and the payout is well worth it. Remember your health lies in your hands, not those of big corporations or health gurus who claim that all the answers lie in their products.

So many of you think that comfort is something to worry about creating for others, but make your own comfort an afterthought. Some of you carry the idea that suffering is somehow noble, or that going without is good.

Dear Ones, we urge you not to underestimate the importance of your own comfort. It is absolutely essential for your own wellness and balance. It is the base from which you will create from. If you are chronically uncomfortable, forever ignoring your own needs, you will enter into survival mode with all of your energy being used up sustaining your discomfort. From there you simply will not have anything left over for others or for the creation of the life you wish to experience and deserve.

What creates comfort for you may not be what would work for others. Give yourself permission to be the expert on you and to honour what you need for your own comfort without judging yourself. Understand that choosing comfort is an act of accepting the supports the universe has for you. It moves you from holding yourself separate in a place of lack into inclusion and receiving.

If reasons come up why you think your own comfort is not a priority, stop and ask if this is in line with who you are today and what the energies are supporting. You will, with some self examination, discover that anything that argues against your own comfort and needs is of old energy and expired belief systems. It is time to let them go and replace them with new beliefs that honour and support you and your evolution.

Your comfort is not frivolous. It is an essential aspect to give you the foundation you need to be able to continue to grow and express yourself. Your comfort supports your alignment. Meeting your own needs and seeing them as equally important as everyone else's is an act of self love and wisdom. A Message to Lightworkers – November 3, 2017

The latest guidance from the Ascended Masters, Galactics, Earth Elementals, Faery Elders, Angels and Archangels known as the Collective:

Greetings, Light Warriors and Bringers of the New Earth!

We are pleased to have this moment to speak with you today.

We are seeing that you are increasingly aware that you are not a stationary object in space, but a presence that is constantly flowing forward, moving with increasing speed and a building of higher intention that is carrying your life energy forward into new and untraveled territory.

Most of this is not only a matter of outer action.

What you do outwardly is only a small measure of who and what you truly are, and of the energies you are anchoring with just your presence on the Earth.

For the energies you are experiencing now, flowing powerfully and increasingly onto the planet, are increasingly informing you on a cellular level Who you are and why you came.

For most, this is a Light mission—a journey into establishing a new point of recognition in Earth’s energies, a frequency that is carrying you into fifth dimensional life.

We do not speak of the fifth dimension as something which you experience one day, because it has “happened” to you or to the Earth.

We speak of that vibrational reality as something you step into consciously, with the intention of knowing who you are within that frequency, developing your outer life based on that higher understanding that only 5D illumination can bring.

You know who you are within the old realm, the now passé third dimensional life that taught you so much, and to which you have given so much.

And now you step into the identity which your higher self knows so well, and has not hidden from you so much as waited until you consciously requested and required to know what that particular 5D Self was like.

And so we will tell you what he or she is like (or he/she, if that is your identity):

You are one for whom Light is your chief nourishment, your greatest Love, and your highest form of knowing.

You are one whom the Universe birthed from its own intention to see higher and further than one set of eyes viewing life through one set of experiences could possibly acquire.

One whom the Universe created from the Source of Love Itself, from the intention to grow more powerful in the knowledge of Love and the Presence of it, expressing and demonstrating through that Presence.

You are the God/Goddess essence that creates worlds, that ends wars (planetary, interplanetary, or intergalactic) and that creates lasting Peace where there was once only bitterness and separation.

You are one who has been able to sink many times into the separate individualism of Earth lives with all their disturbances, pain, chaos, and darkness, and still emerge with an even higher capacity to Love and to learn, to move the Universe forward in its understanding of what may be experienced, and how beautiful the outcome of those experiences can be.

And you are one who is even now able to weather the sadness, imbalances, exhaustion, and uncertainty of the Ascension path, continuing on through the appearances of lack and struggle, illness and depression, separation and isolation, knowing you are creating something from the clay of that road that will be greater than anything that has stood upon the Earth for millennia.

And you are Here, Now.

You are within that moment that, however difficult and confusing it may seem, is only birthing the Light you yourself intentionally brought to be experienced by the Earth Herself, and all life on and within Her.

Rather than feeling defeated at the apparent slowness of this transformation—and the daily concerns of bills to pay, children to feed, work to do, crises to solve—we would ask that you take intentional time each day to grow quiet, to ask your loyal Spirit team of guides, Angelic guardians, and higher self, “What do I need to know?” and to genuinely listen.

Allow them to encourage you, as they show you an easier way to travel whatever you are dealing with now, even if you do not pick up on specific words or ideas.

Images or ideas may come to you at a later time, or you may hear or read something that clues you in with some bit of higher wisdom that answers your question.

Say to these Divine helpers, “Speak to me in words, symbols, and images that I will receive and act upon. If I cannot hear you inwardly, then send them to my subconscious, where they will rise to my conscious mind.

“Infuse my own thinking with your beautiful wisdom—let your ideas rise up in my mind with the kind of Light and feelings of support and higher solution that tell me that this has come from you.

“And give me the courage to believe in that wisdom, and to act upon it.”

This is all that is required, to lift yourself out of that heaviness that is Earth life at the moment.

That, and sitting or walking quietly in Nature and absorbing the life-giving, restoring elements of Lady Gaia Herself.

Call upon the various kingdoms—the plants, the animals, the minerals, the Crystal Beings, the faery and Angelic kingdoms—and require that they infuse you with the kind of energy and strength that will bring you through these trying times.

Then release the need to understand everything, to solve everything, even that which seems to be knocking on the door, requiring that you solve it now.

Do what you must each day, but with kindness, showing yourself the kind of patience for your transformation process that a loving mother would show a small child.

If hearing higher vibrational music is of help to you, as using guided or group meditations is for many, than call upon this as well.

And know that we are with you in this.

You are never alone, never without higher resources, wisdom, and strength to carry you through the shadows of your own healing and Ascending spirit and psyche.

You are never without the beauty of Angelic tones and frequencies, which you glory in in the higher realms, ad you travel to them each night in your sleep state.

And so we bow to you, as always, for the bravery it took for you to come here at this time.

And yet—what a beautiful journey, that ends in such a glorious show of color and Light, which itself leads only to greater vistas and horizons ahead, and Earth’s reintegration into intergalactic life.

Namaste, dear ones!

You are the great teachers, healers, and artists who volunteered to come forth at this time, and the glory of Earth’s increasing vibration is carried within your very breath.

Everyone is a masterpiece because God never gives birth to anything less than that. Everyone carries that masterpiece hidden for many lives, not knowing who they are, and just trying on the surface to become someone. Drop the idea of becoming someone because you already are a masterpiece. You cannot be improved. You have only to come to it, to know it, to realize it. God has Himself created you, you cannot be improved.

Here, I'm not teaching you to improve your life - no, not me. I am simply teaching you to know the life that is already there, that has already always been there, that is already the case.

Just put yourself aside, so your eyes are not filled with the ego, your being is not cloudy, and the sky becomes open. Suddenly, not only you, but the whole Existence says: A masterpiece! This is 'the first principle'.
