I’ve said before that I don’t think we can rely on any politician, even those who are ‘for the people’, to make a change.

We can only change things by rejecting the corrupt system, coming together and running the world as one people, and in a way, to think otherwise is to fool ourselves. It’s great that people are passionate about politicians who they think can do something positive because it shows that the masses are interested in change, and I’d probably join the Bernie Sanders crowd if I hadn’t already been shown that the system is beyond repair.

I don’t mean to sound pessimistic, and our inability to repair the system doesn’t have to be bad. It can be great depending on how you see it, and the system’s destruction signals the beginning of a new world that we’ll all be responsible for creating. It’ll probably be chaotic, but I’m confident that we can create something new through the chaos that works in everyone’s best interest.

So how can we come together to run society our way when so many people are still divided? It might seem naïve to think people can come together at all given how different we all are, but if we could open up to it, we’d see that unity is possible. We might as well work toward it now since it’s inevitable if we want to survive when the system comes down, and if we give it a chance, we’ll see that there’s more hope for our civilization than we thought.

Most people are basically good, and despite our differences, we all have something in common we can appreciate. In fact, we might have a lot more in common than we realize. The fact that we’re all humans who share this planet should be enough for us to find common ground, but since that isn’t enough for some people, we’ll have focus on other things that unite us.

We’ll also have to learn to respect each other, and the first step to coming together is to create an environment where everyone can feel respected and heard. We need to create an environment of openness to everyone’s views, whether they’re religious, political, etc., because religion and politics divide us more than almost anything else. It’s hard to work together when everyone fights over religious and political differences, and getting past them will be the hardest part.

We have to do it though, and its importance can’t be overstated.

When people realize they have to come together or face the destruction of our society, they’ll be forced to work through their differences and their prejudice toward others who think and live differently. They won’t have much of a choice if they want to survive, and when the system’s no longer there to keep things at least somewhat balanced (while keeping people down), we’ll have to keep things stable and we’ll have to do it together.

This might be a scary thought for some people, but it doesn’t have to be. The scariest part of it is the destruction we’ll inevitably face if we don’t come together and find common ground, which our world seems incapable of, but it might get easier when people realize what’s at stake.

We can’t come together or change anything if we don’t tolerate each other’s unique views, and as long as even one person doesn’t feel like they’re being heard, unity will be too naïve of a goal to seriously pursue. Unless everyone’s heard and accepted to some degree, we’ll continue to bicker, fight wars and drive our society into its grave.

Haile Selassie and Bob Marley used to say that there will be no peace until everyone can be accepted regardless of race, skin color or anything else. Until we can respect our differences as well as the things we have in common, the world will move in the same direction regardless of whether the corrupt elite are vacated from their self-made thrones.

A new elitist force would take things back over in a few decades, because the populace would still be unable to run society together. We might think these new governments have our best interest in mind, but just like we are right now, we’ll quickly learn that they only serve themselves.

We can avoid all of this, but it’ll require us to take a serious leap in terms of how much we accept and respect each other. Our old way of doing things is no longer working, and we can either make a radical change or watch as the world comes apart at the seams.

We all have things in common and changes we’d like to see, so maybe the first step is to realize that almost everyone wants peace and individual sovereignty. We can start from there and branch out as we learn to accept and even cherish our differences, and we can live freely without the need for governments or the corporations that run our lives. We just have to do it together.
