I was born in the northernmost part of South Africa On 14th October, 1951, A farmer's son. At the time my parents were living on a huge ranch, where wildlife was plentiful. Later moved to a dairy farm about 1-2 hours from Johannesburg. My dad had a milk supply business to nearby 'Townships', one of which was Sharpeville at the time of the massacre.During this time I had started my schooling. Later we moved to the province of Natal, to a farm near the Drakensberg mountains. I was Overwhelmed by its beauty,history and Zulu culture. I became a fluent Zulu linguist within a year at the age of 11.At this age I saw some of the filming of the film 'Zulu' some miles away from where we lived,and have continued to read history books on the subject over the years. At the age of 21,I had a Christian conversion experience which changed my life completely. I was moved from being extremely introverted to outgoing, people oriented and began sharing my faith among rural Zulu people who were my friends. This was to become a teaching-preaching and caring ministry which took place in open fields, city parks, farmers barns and 'township areas for some 18 years before entering the 'full time ministry' in 1990. I am now a minister in the U.K. at present serving in Scotland, a place Christine and I love very much.
