SORRY AND ****ING HACKERS + CAUTIONARY MESSAGE
Posted: Sep 11 2008 09:01 AM

Hi All,

First of all I want to say "Sorry" to any of you who were members of my websites on the jpbp.com domain, this also includes any sub domains as well, example autosurf247.jpbp.com

During the last few weeks hackers had gained access to the server and deleted files and made changes to some of the sites, so you may have noticed that some didn't work or had rude messages on them.

Not being satisfied with this they also installed some illegal scripts including spam email sending scripts and others, I have now had to have the domain name and all sub domains deleted from the server.

I did have a zip backup file of all the sites, but when I came to unzip it a lot of the files within it were corrupted, so take this as a warning even if you do a backup of your own websites always unzip the file to check there are no errors!

So I now have years of work and money spent on scripts etc that is now down the crapper.  So please bear with me until I have decided what alternative prize to offer for the Just Perfect Award winner. So I do hope you will be able to accept my apology to you all.

Best Wishes

John.

Sorry to hear about this John.  For once you are as cool as a cucumber but I bet you are seething! !

Stay cool and have a good day--the best you can under the circumstances.

That really sucks John! Sorry to hear about the "invasion"
What systems base were you working with>?
Man we have to be so careful these days. High security systems, password strength so important.
What escapes me is how they gain any real benefit with wilful destruction, I only sort of understand how they gain from hijacking to spam mail with.
Hosting is so critical to this. thank goodness my host is in real time contact with everything.
Back up redundancy is so important too. It took me to experience some near fatal crashes (fatal to my business that is) to understand that I needed not just a backup on the server..but also one locally. The more the better, because you never know.

Hope you can get things back up and running again soon my friend.
