The Flight

The Flight

Sealed in a cocoon of light,

I reach out for the stars at night,

And dream of all that is to come,

And all that’s gone before me.

Then suddenly a spark I see,

From deep across infinity,

This star, this star, this star fly’s forth,

Ever rushing towards me.

This star brings me to the place,

The place where I will live.

For the remainder of days I’ll ponder,

Just what has it to give.

This star you see he takes my hand,

And flies me through the night

And like a phoenix rises,

Then as dragon on stone he lites

This stone of crystal is so brilliant,

Brilliant to behold.

This crystal see it cannot lift,

Because it is so old.

The ground would never cough it up,

The earth in which it lies,

Has grown solid in the cold,

Never more to rise.

Reflection of both suns and moon,

Shine on its very surface,

And suddenly you realize,

Just what is its purpose.

To heal those things, untouchable things,

And as these things unwind,

We find those things, were such things,

We’d thought we’d left behind.

Hi Kari,

What a vivid imagination you have. You are so good at explaining your thoughts, too.

Thanks for sharing you poem.
