ARTICLE OF VIRTUE with Thomas Richmond
12/31/2007 5:03:40 PM

Hello everyone,

A very happy New Year wishes to you all. I feel real cool to be your lead man into the first issue of Article of Virtue in year 2008. More so, having to introduce the work of a very friendly and interesting personality of our community, Thomas Richmond.

You've got to agree with Thomas...our Adlandpro Prayer Warrior... that 2007 has been one great year!
Developing the right spirit in us through God’s guidance can get us rejuvenated and instead of getting despaired, we get repaired. This single decision can make 2008 even better and more successful for us all.

I’ll call on you dear friends to find time and read these psalms and interpretations Thomas has provided us here from the good book. These words can surely help us in our prayers, in our lives, our families and in our businesses.

Thank you very much.

Jason Lamure.

Be Rightly Restored!!

What a year we all have had, 2007 and just now stepping forword into another one, year 2008! God bless you all. Here is a little devotional from the King James Version Bible that I wish to share with you all this special season.

“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit”

(Psalms 51:12, KJV).  Over the years, I have misread and misheard Psalm 51:12, thinking it said, “Restore unto me the joy of my salvation” And also over the years, I have seen a lot of people mis-live the verse, too.
The difference between ‘my’ and ‘thy’ may seem like simple semantics, but the chasm between them is actually so vast that the only bridge capable of spanning the gap is the blood of Jesus Christ.

“My” salvation means I do it myself. I earn my salvation. I have a right to my salvation. It is mine, and it’s all about me. “Thy” salvation is about God – His gift, His promise, His sacrifice, His love. It is His to bestow, because it’s not about you – or me – it’s about God and his grace.

This is important as it is related to the good news of the Gospel: If our joy about Jesus is based on what we’ve done, then we’ll always wonder if we’ve done enough. That joy is only temporary. But if our joy in Jesus is based on the grace of God, it’s permanent – “it is finished” (John 19:30) If you are struggling to sense the joy of his salvation, perhaps you are still seeing it as yours and not His.

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” (Psalms 51:12 NIV)
What does this mean? It means relying on God’s work – God began a good work in

you and He will “carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6, NIV). God’s spirit sustains you – Your ability to walk this world, (even as a Christian) is dependent upon God’s spirit within you and your willingness to stay close to God. It is not based on your strength and efforts. “Grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me” (Psalm 51:12b, NIV)

Prayer:
Father, in this new year - 2008, I pray that You renew a right spirit within us, a spirit not born of fear, or from self-sufficiency, or from an ungodly independence. Fill us with your spirit of love and grace, as we rely upon you to restore unto us the joy of Your salvation, Amen.

Happy New Year to you all!

Thomas Richmond.

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Thomas Richman is by far, one of the most friendly and supportive individual member of our community. But what probably makes "Uncle Tom" the toast of Adlandpro is his special knack for getting every piece of information on whatever issue you throw at him. No wonder he's known as Mr. Info. His very active forum, Encourage My Soul /Original Sunday Showcase Bios  is one of the most informative forum about people and places.

Hello Thomas,

Let me thank you for writing a wonderful article with emphasis on living a good life. Let me also use this opportunity to wish you and all our friends in the community a very happy and prosperous New Year.

As one goes through life whether he is Christian or not,

he must first be true to himself and of course, to God, to achieve his goals. Believing God starts from believing in you. If you believe you can succeed you can make your dreams come true through perseverance.  Life itself is not a bed of roses but we could do with a few thorns less now, couldn't we? Ask yourself what am I doing? Why am I doing this? When you know your answers and with God’s guidance, then pursue it at all cost, don't let a few negative statements let you down.

My experience with online work, according to my siblings, is a total waste of my time, but you know I believe and I will make it work.  Lord, I know it takes a lot of work but with all the wonderful friends I have made during my time online I feel the Good Lord has blessed me and will rightly restore me.  With their love and God’s support I feel invincible.

You don't have to be a Christian to believe in God, you don't have to attend church to believe in God, just accept God in your heart and He will be there to restore His joy for you in your time of need or to rejoice with you. I know as He is with me at all times, as I feel Him in my heart and as He will help me succeed; so is He available to every one of us.

God Bless everyone as we read your own response to our friend’s lovely article of virtue.

Sam,

What a great start to 2008.

Thomas is not only a wonderful and caring man but he wears his spirituality where all can see it.

Thomas has a knack of making bible verses come to life. His study is evident.

Thank you Thomas for everything that you have done for so many at Adland.

Have a wonderful New Year and may that continue throughout 2008.

Jill, a lovely tribute and a great contrast to Thomas's words.

Two stars are in our heavens here and we need to take note if we want to share in their constellation.

Thank you all so much.

All my love and repect,

Roger
