Hi Sam,

This is the first time I'm posting in this forum and I am very impressed. You picked a winner with Roger and the article was magnificent.

Let me start by saying I want everybody to use bigger letters in their posts or else I might need to buy a new pair of glasses. :)

Roger, you hit the nail on the head with your article. The world is full of wanter's and complainers that aren't willing to go the extra mile to get what they want. The truth of the matter is that most really can't, won't or refuse to differentiate between want and need and the mere fact that they want something means they deserve to get it. They expect instant gratification and can't understand why they don't get what they want.

I don't think there is much to add about our community, you said it so well. Most of us are able to discern who the Wanter's & Needers are here and personally I just steer clear of them. Confrontation and controversy only spread in a viral (very popular word nowadays) way and cause a spectacular feeling of ill will and I certainly don't think this great community either wants or needs that. We've had to much of that in the past.

Judy, great review. I'm glad someone of your caliber was chosen to review Roger's article. Wonderful job and well done.

All the best & Shalom,

Peter

Hello fellow Adlanders

What a tremendous response on Roger's article of virtue. As usual I feel like creating new threads for each of your comments.
Dear Marilyn, your comment has created an additional revelation of the principle of WANT and NEED. I learnt this: There is certainly a huge difference between "want" and "need", but many people do not seem to understand that. Many seem to think a "want" is a "need" when it truly isn't at all! A NEED is what one must have, a WANT is only a desire to have.

And dear, dear Sharon: I feel you are right about the "Wanters and the Needers",,But I personally feel that there are "true desires" here in alp and everywhere else also. I know that you did not personally mean any specific people in your article and it is simply a article of your feelings. Good hearts overpower the bad here in my opinion I believe so too.

Welcome Kathleen Vanbeekom, my co-smiler of the month. Thanks for a great response to Roger's article of virtue,
And Terry, you observation is just golden: It isn't only the people here at ALP who are often misunderstood.  I believe society as a whole tends to misunderstand the beliefs and behaviors of others.  Perhaps if we judged others less there would be greater understanding and more tolerance in the world.

Our sweet Leslye Miller: I have to say that I truly agree with you, although many people have different views of defining wanters and needers. Sad part is many refuse to see pass what they really want or need in life (meaning going the extra miles to make it happen). You bet! Billy Boy Vanderbilt seems to run on your same page. Hear him: I often compare my wants and needs to what I presume to be the wants and needs of others. It is easy to distinguish between what I want and what I need for myself but, for others , this might be a completely different reality

Hi Peter Fogel, your great show of love and support is highly appreciated even when you're busy on the hotseat of the latest POTW award. I hope every member heeds Pet's appeal, he's already gotten enough magnification, you can see him with one while admiring his little one (hope I'm right): Let me start by saying I want everybody to use bigger letters in their posts or else I might need to buy a new pair of glasses

If you have not yet congratulated Peter yet on his POTW award, please go here:

Dear Roger, I'm sure you're in for a great week. Have fun dear friend and thank you for offering a great work.
