ARTICLE OF VIRTUE with Neil Sperling
8/17/2007 12:54:14 PM

In my time here in ALP, I have met a lot of wonderful and inspiring people.  Some have become great friends, fun friends, soul mates, kindred spirits and business partners.  The gentleman I am about to introduce to this forum is a great and true friend to me and so many others, as well as a mentor, teacher and an inspiration to all who are fortunate enough to cross his path.  He lives what he professes to be!! He walks the walk of the talk he talks!!

He is devoted to his personal growth and meeting his goals, and is passionate about teaching others to do the same.  I am so anxious to see the responses to his article that I will leave it at that and give to all of you Mr. Neil Sperling and his article “Focus, Flexibility, Fun & Balance”

Wow, what  tough acts to follow…. 1st Judy, then Terry and Nick…… all leading the way in making Sam’s “Articles of Virtue” a forum for everyone. One of Adlandpro’s Finest! I had been thinking Sam might ask me to write, and it was no surprise he did. I had started formulating a topic that I thought I could at least say something about and “then” he hit me with this joyful task.
Sam it is an honor to participate in this forum.   Here are my thoughts!

Focus, Flexibility, Fun and Balance!
In Business, it is difficult to balance all that you must do, with what you should do plus what is simply fun to do.  Online home based business(es) are not exempted from business as usual tasks and duties. These four words can be a guide!

1- Focus
Once your business plan is in place and your action steps worked out, you have to “Focus” on the steps required to make your business grow and become profitable.

Technically, you need to drive traffic to your website by Advertising, Working Traffic Exchange programs, Link Exchange programs and Website Optimization. You need to “track” what is working and what is not. Modify or get rid of things not working and “Fine Tune” the things that are.

But technical stuff is only one aspect of online business. Although we sit at home in front of our computers we still need to develop people skills. People skills are needed to “recruit” new associates and Leadership skills are needed to “create” a team.

Remember a Team will work “with you” not “for you” and “you WORK with them.” I see network marketing as “Teachers teaching teachers, to teach teachers, to teach!”

True, we have to make the technical tools work to bring hits to our product or service, but we all know what will happen if the people that become involved with us are not trained. “Nothing” So we  need to balance people's skills and technical marketing know-how.

2- Flexibility!
In order to Focus and do all the above, we have to develop “Flexibility”!

Being flexible is two fold.  We need to be able to modify what we are doing…. PLUS we need to be ready to even change programs if the one we are working does not prove to be all you once thought it was. We may also need to have two or three programs all working together. I like this quote on flexibility!

“Blessed are the flexible as they can not be bent out of shape”.

3 – FUN
What you do has to also be FUN!
It’s been said time and time again “if you find something you enjoy doing and you can earn income from doing it, you will never have to work again all your life.” I personally love network marketing, both online and offline. I see it ALWAYS as a WIN-WIN situation. People helping people!

4- Balance
Here is the RED FLAG – Balance!
Balancing time online “doing” the activities that you must do, in order to make your business grow and become profitable.

1-    Promote and market your business

2-    Recruiting, Teaching and Training your team

3-   Reviewing your program, advertising, marketing and people

4-  THEN - Play

We all need to take a break some times. Have a laugh, play a game or look at some pictures. But remember……. BALANCE! The work MUST be done!

There is a time and place for all activities. Focus on the tasks you MUST do, be Flexible, Modify, Alter or Change your course when you must, THEN and ONLY THEN make time for PLAY.
Make these four words part of your every day online philosophy and watch your life and business change for the better!

Balance - Focus - Flexibility - Fun +++

iel was born in Saskatchewan and raised on a small farm. He is the oldest child and only son, with two sisters and no brothers. Neil's Father died in a tractor accident when he was 11. He loves writing on his area of mastery, Online Marketing. Neil has a great forum in the community where he teaches freely on many important Marketing issues and techniques. Here's Niel's forum: Neil Sperling's Business Tips

I thank you Sam for allowing me to participate in your Articles of Virtue, featuring Neil Sperling.  Neil has great advice on staying ahead in our business ventures.

Our lives begin each day with distractions of all kinds:  TV, telephone, email, spouses, kids, parents, friends, neighbors, jobs, businesses and the daily chores to feeding, cleaning and maintaining things.  Then we get out of bed!!!

We never know how our day will unfold, but as Neil points out with some firm understanding and principles applied, we can do certain things to bring us closer to achieving our plan.  Neil's guide displays a great wisdom of understanding the necessity of getting the work done and having fun.  Have a plan, focus a certain amount of time each day applying it, find ways to enjoy working it and the balance will fall into place automatically.

It is always a benefit in reading Neil's articles.

Thank you Neil.

A very good weekend to you all my great friends of Adlandpro.

We in Article of Virtue are presenting the king of Networking/ Online business. He is no other figure than our own amiable and dear friend, Neil Sperling. This time around he is not reviewing another member’s article but rather he is on the hot seat, taking us through an area that almost every member of the community is having as the primary reason for joining AdlandPro.

Neil is teaching on Focus, Flexibility, Fun and Balance, how to bring these three issues into play as we go about our daily activities. I call it the principle of FOFLEXFUNBA.

I am sure with the Introduction by Judy Smith and an in-depth review by Joe Downing, you’ll definitely have a most rewarding weekend with our forum.

Many Thanks to all of you for those friendly and inspirational support support.

Peace!!

Yippee!!

I am so excited that I got here first this time!!  Sam, one of these days you are going to teach me how to do all that stuff you do with the frames and faces.  I am impressed and fascinated with the wonder way you are presenting these forums.

Neil,

Your article is YOU.  It is so typical and so much a teaching tool as well as another in-depth look at you!!  So many of us lose focus, don't know how to FLEX when things don't work out exactly the way we planned.  I won't go into FUN, because you know I love to have fun.  The hard one for me is BALANCE.

Just when do I disconnect the internet and get to some of the things that are bringing joy and meaning to my life?  I see the balancing act as an art.  Thinking about it brought me back to a book I read long ago and in another time called the ONE MINUTE MANAGER.  And, though the writing dealt a lot with empowering others and delegating, there was a lot to be learned about balancing the work load with the personal and things we are working FOR.

Neil, you have gone above and beyond.  GREAT JOB, my friend!  You have embraced the whole meaning of what we are doing here and what we need to succeed.

Joe,
I would have not expected less than the perfect, on the money review that you have given Neil's article.

Thanks, Sam - you are on the road to another successful thread in the Articles of Virtue!
