I  mention, the winner of last year is the host net year. 2006 Finland won with a hardrock song- first time that happened (I thought it was fun).

This contest has been aroundfor over 50 year, I think. But it ud t be  contest for schlagers - not so any more. ;-)

The music has became more "hip" an Ithink this started some years ago, when countries from east-europe was aloud to enter the contest.

I think it's much more fun now. ;-)

I like the song of the 2006 contest that won in Athens.

Though it was a "satanic" presentation which made culture shock in the music
cycles, these guys are very nice and human. They deserved to win.

Yes, Helena Paparizou Greek living both in Greece and Sweden (grew up in Sweden, known from the Swedish Band ANTIQUE) made a very big succee.
