Very interesting post Jill. A lot of information in the page you have made and those pictures of the cloud formations above the mountain are truly amazing. Most of the other links you have posted I have been to before and years ago infact and know them all mostly quite well. I do believe there maybe some areas in the world that stand out as more spiritual than others, however a lot of areas have been declared by different spiritual faiths and cultures in history. I believe that all of earth is sacred and spiritual and no matter where you may be you can recieve inspiration from God. Just that certain spots on earth seem to stand out more, because we may see more beauty in a certain area, it seems to make us more in tune. I have posted 2 pictures in here of my area that have that type of beauty.

Sorry, one more attempt:-)

Hi Jill,

Thank you for your post. You are right, it's a journey, a long journey!

There are many places on the Earth that people consider to be spiritual.
I'd like to tell about one of them. It's situated in Sevastopol, the city on the Black Sea shore, in southern part of Ukraine. Many centuries ago ancient Greeks lived here in prosperous town of Chersonesus. You can walk among ruins of ancient homes, temples, necropolis, see blue body of water and think about eternity and how short our lives are in comparison with ages of mankind history. This is not about pessimistic set of mind, opposite, this is about how to live your life best.

Russian Christianity started in this place more than 1000 years ago.

City of Sevastopol is a very special place, and it has a very special spirit. Leo Tolstoy who defended the city during Crimean War, said:

It's impossible that while thinking that you are in Sevastopol, you soul would not get penetrated with a special feeling of proud and your blood would not start circulating faster in your veins.

During Crimean War, the Sisters of Mercy tended Russian troops, the Sisters of Charity tended the French, and the wounded English soldiers were almost neglected. Florence Nightingale with 38 nurses arrived to Crimea to help the soldiers, and this was in Sevastopol area.

This name was given to the city by Katherine the Great. In translation from Greek, it means ''the city worh of admiration." This name was proved by heroic history of Sevastopol.

This is a Hero city, which has more than 1000 monuments in it.
