Hello my dear dear friend Jill,

You know when I see a forum or thread come up with your name on it I know it is going to be really something special. I am so excited about this I can tell you. Everything over the last week has led me to a mountain. Firstly the book I've just read by Karen Darke "If you fall" then I watched the absolutely fantastic tv program called "touching the void" which was about the survival of a mountain climber who smashed the bones in his leg and crawled for six days down a mountain on his own without food and water.

Awesome....

and now this with your Mountain subject? Wow am I on a journey to inspiration at present. I have always been positive as you know but I have a feeling like no other inside of me that has never felt so strong and it is so exciting.

Jill you are the best my friend and I thank God I found you.

Have a fantastic day Chris Wiseman Personal Website http://www.cgwpma.com Chris Wiseman Positive About Forums -Take a look http://community.adlandpro.com/forumsMenu.aspx Don't forget to sign the Guestbook http://cgwpma.com/32198/index.html

Hi Georgios,

Well, you definitely asked the RIGHT QUESTION, and with your expertise in name origins, you are going to have fun with this.........

I am going to refer you to the history page compiled by College of the Siskiyous to read a few paragraphs...it is too long to post....and you will see why  :-)

Go to http://www.siskiyous.edu/shasta/his/index.htm

14.  The Name 'Shasta'

This section contains entries for some of the more important scholarly contributions pertaining to the origins of the name "Shasta." This section also contains a selection of primary documents, from the 1830s and 1840s, which serve to illustrate the wide variety of past uses of "Shasta" as a name for various mountains, rivers, and peoples. Taken as a whole, the entries in this section have been grouped together to draw attention to the fact that there is a bewildering number of possible sources to the name "Shasta."

Have fun and let us know if you can solve the puzzle!

Cheers,  Jill
