Every now and then we get a life changing event. Something that really gets inside us and shakes us up! I was given for Christmas a book called "IF YOU FALL" by author Karen Darke. It was one of those books that just grabbed me and I couldn't put it down. Karen was a climber and often climbed the great mountains of the world. One day she slipped and was left paralysed. The story unfolds of a battle against pain, operations, lying flat on your back in hospital for months and then "the new begining". Karen refuses to lie still and begins on a new life venture. If you want to feel inspired and you like reading do yourself a favour and get this book. It is a life changing book. Karen's captivating story shines a bright light on the meaning of challenge, and on the limitless capabilities of the human spirit.

Thanks so much for your positive email about the book. I was a bit scared about it being published, wondering how it would be interpreted, but felt compelled to do it - like it was part of my life purpose or something. So thanks for writing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I've signed your guestbook and had a brief look at your site which looks great. I'll have a better delve into it when I'm home - just enjoying my last few days in Australia with my brother (he lives out here) before the long-haul trek back tomorrow.

I am in the process of divorce at the moment....my decision, big decision, but the right one. Time out here in Oz has been very healing!
