EIGHT EDITION - WOMEN OF COURAGE
12/24/2006 8:13:10 PM

John Elliott and Luella May welcome you to the Eighth Edition of

Women of Courage

Each week we will honor a woman that has truly made a difference by her
contributions, courage, love, and selflessness. Women honored will be chosen from inside AdlandPro, outside AdlandPro, living in the present, and yes, we will not forget those heroines that paved the way for the freedoms we now enjoy.   We will honor women who have shown tremendous courage and fortitude against all odds.

Assisting us in coordinating these awards are four outstanding ladies who are Women of Courage in their own right.

WE PRESENT TO YOU OUR EIGHTH

WOMAN OF COURAGE

Margaret Anne Elliott

Margaret Anne Elliott nee, Nicholson

Hi Everyone John Elliott aka Oaky Wood Here,

Now I realize that absolutely no-one here knew who I’ve nominated here today, and for reasons that will become so very clear, I hope you agree with me that my nominee certainly deserves our title of “Woman of Courage” she deserves her fifteen minutes of fame as Andy Warhol once quoted, although alas posthumously as it is.

I’ve nominated my own mother Margaret Anne Elliott nee, Nicholson.

So what makes my mother so special and so deserving of this honour, an ordinary state educated women living through the war years in a small mining Village near to Mansfield UK where I live today. Well first I’d like to invite you to read the following articles that I wrote, and then you’ll probably agree with me how courageous my mother really was in her own way. Yes this is my testament to her, her love and courage, and her love of her children despite the hardships she endured.

I hope you agree with me that this most beautiful of women, who never lost her beauty right up to the day she died, deserves to be our “Woman of Courage” for this week. I remember once going into town with her when she was about 65, and a friend thought she was my younger sister. LOL My mother loved it, of course I certainly didn’t, but was so proud to be walking by her side. She struggled with anxiety, panic attacks and deep depressions all of her life, because of what she went through, yet was still a lively and bubbly fun loving mother at 70. She loved to travel, and was loved by all that knew her. I know my mother eventually died of a broken heart, after she had found true love and happiness, only for it to be snatched away from her yet again, her courage finally broke, when the angels came and gave her peace forever.

For me my mother was the epitome of a “Women of Courage” and deserves her place here within our forum.

I STILL LOVE YOU MOM, yes your skinny, runny nosed, be-speckled little boy has grown into a man, and I still love you with all my heart, and one day we’ll meet up again I’m sure, I just hope I’ve made you proud as you look down on me.

Thank you all for helping honour my mother

John Elliott, aka Oaky Wood

Thank you John,

I have spent a night in severe pain and with Christmas morning only hours away here in the UK I decided to clear some emails. I am glad I did.

The story of your mother was justwhat I needed.

To have a mother as somebody you admire is wonderful and I'm glad that all the sadness has a positive side.

Roger
