 Ingredients
2 unbeaten egg whites

1-1/2 cups/375 mL sugar

1/2 cup/125 mL water

1 tbsp/15 mL light corn syrup

Dash salt

2-1/2 tsp/12.5 mL Original Double-Strength Vanilla (11 oz)      add to cart  



Directions
In double boiler top, combine all ingredients except vanilla (do not place over water). Beat about 1 minute with hand-held electric mixer until blended. Place over (not touching) boiling water. Cook, beating constantly, until frosting forms soft peaks (this may take a little more than seven minutes). Remove from boiling water. Add vanilla and beat until stiff peaks form.

Makes enough to frost tops and sides of two 8- or 9-inch/20- or 23-cm layer cakes, 12 servings.
