Good Call by Wal-Mart in the USA
9/24/2006 3:22:48 PM
Sunday Septembet 24, 2006 Last week in the United States, Wal-Mart (the US largest retail store) stated that it will almost immediately be reducing the cost of some drugs to the public from a high of about US$30.00 to US$4.00 for each doctor prescription. This is very good news for especially the poor. However, Wal-Mart also said (as reported by the US and World Television Media) that orders will only be accepted if done Online first and then picked-up at the Wal-mart Pharmacies across America. This may be a short-fall for the poor if the benefits are to fully accessable to them. Why? Many of our senior citizens do not use the internet to make prescription orders. They go to the stores/pharmacies instead. And their relatives often do not make orders over the internet. Will their doctors help? Maybe, maybe not, since that is not often the norm - doctors just make the prescriptions and do not buy the orders at the pharmacies. We hope Wal-Mart will look into this as they receive the feed-backs from the public. In addition, we also hope Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, CVS Pharmacy and others worldwide will study this Wal-Mart Policy and do likewise to help consumers. Good to go from Wal-Mart Take care.

This is not a perfect world! If some one does something that is good
Why can we not accept the good, go an extra mile and profit from the
little we are given?

Why can we not set up Internet prescription ordering systems to take
advantage of the little given.  Why are we throwing stones?
