Hello my fellow Adlanders!
I'm coming to my friends and family here at our community in hopes of getting a Huge amount of prayers for my friend Linda.
Linda is not an Adlander, but she is a very dear friend of mine,
offline. Linda has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor is
pressing against her optic nerve of her left eye.
Fortunately, Linda's neurosurgeon believes the tumor is operable. On
Monday 9/25, Linda will go under what is called a Gamma Knife, which is
basically a fancy laser.
This type of brain surgery has tremendous risks. The area of Linda's
brain that needs to be probed affects major parts of the brain. The
surgery can have effects on Linda's motor skills, sight, speech, memory
and more. The surgery could or make her unable to walk or talk, for the rest of her life, or even
cause death She will be fully awake through the operation, so the
doctors can monitor her speech and motor skills. The recovery time is,
at this time, unknown. It could be from a few days to a few months.
As you can imagine, Linda is terrified. Although her children are grown
(19 and 22), they are scared to death that they may lose their mother.
The kids' dad has nothing to do with them, so their mom is all they
have. I've known Linda's children since they were kids, so for them and
for Linda, I will
be at the hospital with her, so I will be offline for at least Monday,
if not longer. Linda has gotten all her legal things in order (will,
living will, life insurance policies, etc) preparing for the worst case
scenario.
This has been a really rough time for all of us. Linda and I are very
close, and I have offered her 110% of my support, which she will have
regardless of what happens.
God will be holding her hand and will guide her through surgery.
What I'm asking of
my online family, is your prayers. Please pray for Linda, and her
children over this weekend and on Monday. Prayer is a powerful thing,
and with your help, I know Linda will get through this possible life
changing time.
Please pass this message along in your forums, for Linda and for me. I appreciate it.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Toodles,
Lisa
