Re: Lottery Scam

Hi Laurie, Yes, I sent it to PayPal. The address they use for people to send them these scams is: spoof@paypal.com I also sent a "Direct Contact" about this to all my "Adland" friends and "Pam" from Canada sent me a reply. In it she said (the real) PayPal had sent her an e-mail telling her someone had taken money from her account. How the bad guys got her password is beyond me. Had PayPal not notified her she would not have known it had happened for at least a while. Anywho, she changed her password and hopefully, she will not lose any more money. More hopefully, maybe PayPal will refund what she lost. Please, Take Care! Neil

Hi Lisa!  :-)

I recieved something in my real physical mail from the EU International lottery.......IN SPAIN!  (LOL)  Now it really was mailed from Spain.  BUT:  The idiots sent the cheaply fabricated copies in an ordinary junk envelope.....didn't even use a return address.....and mailed it to me by using a mailing list stick-on!  (ROTFL!!!!!!!)

They tried to make it look professional......even gave me a fax number where I could fax them my bank info!  (LOL)  But no physical address?  They said it was for a lottery that I played back in 2004 in which there were 246 players and I won something to the effect of over $700 grand.

Kind of hard to win something you've never played huh?

Hi Lisa!

I have Freelotto posting a message everyday for me to cash in my $10,000,000 winnings and all I have to do is give them my Visa number - go figure!

May God watch over you and your family!

I have received email like that quite often, and YES it is a scam.

If you would contact the person stated in the email, they will ask you for your

bank account numbers for what they say will be your winnings transfered to

your account. Instead they will drain your bank account.

Hi ya Neil!

You are most welcome. I've gotten a number of the lottery scam emails; figured it was time I posted one variable so folks could see it.

Hey! I received an email like the one you posted too, except the payment was for several thousand dollars - I wish - LOL! I reported it to PPal as well.

Thanks for your post!

Folks, be careful out there and never, ever click on a link in emails like this one. Open a new browser window and enter the url for the site yourself, then sign in.

Toodles,

Lisa :)
