Scrooge Ways to Submit an Article - Short Discussion
7/27/2006 7:19:05 AM
Moments ago one webmaster and I were discussing on some of the ways on how to make a site more informative and accessible to the readers who often surfed in via Google. As I do all the editing as well as approving massively loaded articles submitted to my site, I would be the best person he could talk to when it comes to quality article writing and submissions. So he asked me about the quality of the articles which were submitted to my site. Well guess what.. I said to him that many of those articles could have been approved without much thought, but just as many of those often got rejected or deleted by me. Wow talking about article-deleting spree here! When he had a closer looked on some of the samples of rejected articles, he was surprised that some of these articles were nothing of value, ie spams, links links and links (huh?), blatant free flow advertising propaganda and so on. These articles really offer nothing but an utter waste of somebody else's time and effort. He has no idea why these people like to do that, perhaps he thinks they have crafted their own niche in this ie article spamming. LOL But the main idea that I wanna say to him is this; You can forget about people talking on how many gazillion of visitors and truckloads of traffic you'll get from submitting your articles, if you ain't got a clue in writing something which anyone would be foolish not to put it up on their site, or at least you didn't care less to the submission rules set by the article directory websites. If this little article directory like mine doesn't accept these junk articles, you can bet that there tons of other owners who would equally reject them as well. So I said to him; Here are some of the simple tips which I think should be applicable to make most of the article directory owners out there to willingly accept your articles with open heart :) 1) Way too many links, links, links, links and nothing but links I once showed him of an article which consisted of nothing but links to bunch of spammy websites in the article body. Yeah..I'm talking about those MFA sites or porn related sites. So if you can find any site in the whole universe which would be willingly accept these articles, then I'll be happy to buy you a dinner. :) 2) Opps..wrong parking? Errmm..why do you think people would spend time organizing and categorizing things on their websites? Well, you don't wanna find article about baby feeding when you are looking for wine tasting articles right? Same goes with article directory owners who won't want these articles to creep into wrong categories. So send in your articles to the right categories. 3) Wrong site bummer! When people set up article directories about aromatherapy, they would only accept aromatherapy related articles. So what makes you think bonsai tree articles can make their charm onto those sites? 4) Do you speak English? Or something else? The next time you write and submit your articles you won't want your readers to use google to translate your article. LOL. So write in a proper way, hire somebody else to edit your content otherwise no editors would be foolish enough to correct your own grammar mistakes. 5) Blatant Advertisement by Blatant Advertiser So do you write articles to sell something to the editors? C'mon, write something that will benefit your potential readers so they can come by your site and love you instead. LOL So here they are. I hope these write-ups will serve as a little guide to you. At the end of this short discussion, he said, "No wonder you've created your site with blogs, stories (articles), short pages (ads), polls and forums submission... So, I guess you give some people an option to post or submit.." I said, "That's the way it is..." Until next time... Cheers! Marzlan Michael Arzl

Hi,

Very good, common sense, but very good.  It reminds me of  some of the posts we see here in Adlandpro.

I've thought about making a forum called Adlandpro bloopers, but then I didn't want to embarrass anyone.

Well written,

Mary says "common" sense. I think that commodity is in less and less supply.

I have one forum site that is run by a member of AdlandPro that I keep getting this links and  links as replies to a post of mine. Very frustrating as I am sure it is to our friend who runs this site. He has made the comment several times how time consuming it is to track down all the spam in all his sites.

David

PS: Mary, thanks for not doing the blooper site yet. I would most likely be in there somewhere. As one student of mine said who had the problem far worse than I do "My brains run WAY faster than my pencil" LOL

In my case, my brain runs far faster than my ability to backspace and fix the errors I see. When I am rich and famous maybe I will have an assistant who can proofread it all and fix the ones I missed ;-)
