HI David,

I hear ya! I've been there and done that too! For me I had hit rock bottom when I had my episode with major depression.

I am glad that you have bounced back and made your life better. Depression does not however always come from someone wanting or desiring something they can't have. Many times, such as in my case, it can be a chemical imbalance for which I will have to deal with for the rest of my life.

I wish you alot of success with all that you do and with your new life!

God Bless,

Marilyn

HI Nick,

As you well know I am disabled myself, so I too am home alot. But you must learn to adapt to this lifestyle and make the best of what you have been dealt.

It was very difficult for me when I first became disabled 3+ years ago because I have always been so active and worked alot. Not being able to go out to work and make $$ was the worse thing for me, but I finally came to the realization that I can either wallow in self pity forever, or do something about it. I decided to do the latter!

Depression can not be taken care of on it's own if it is severe...medication, support from friends and family and counseling is the answer. It definitely helps to have people around you that care and support you through a very difficult time!

I always have you in my thoughts and prayers, and remember this...you CAN and WILL survive!

God Bless,

Marilyn

Hi Wahab,

I don't know why your question didn't get answered. I believe you can lessen depression by taking medications especially if your depression was/is due to a chemical imbalance. You need to consult a good doctor to discuss this.

Having friends and/or family who offer encouragement and support can be helpful.

Keeping yourself occupied is important. This can be done by working at a job you enjoy, reading books that help keep your mind busy, using the computer to learn about depression and other topics that interest you, exercising every day, eating healthy foods, enjoying nature such as the birds, animals, and plants, plus anything else positive that you can think about and do to keep yourself busy.

I hope these ideas help a little.
