A Special Prayer
5/12/2006 9:17:03 PM
Hi Guys/Girls, this poem is a 'stark reminder' of why UVACA is here and it is for all of those people whom choose to ignore the plight of Our Children. A Special Prayer Our Dear Lord up in heaven I pray to you today I pray for all of those people that choose to 'look away' I pray for their 'Blind eye' the one that they always 'turn' I pray for all of their ignorance that makes my stomache churn I pray for that 'Fence' the one they all sit upon I pray for those that you ask for help only to find that they have gone! I pray for that 'other cheek' the one that they 'turn away' the one that is close to that 'blind eye' that they turn away each day I pray for all of those 'hands' that have reached out for someone to care I pray for all of those people who's hearts are'nt really there! created by Juliana Bond

A wonderful and touching poem. After doing 8 years of foster care with medically fragile children, adopting one older child, who was considered unadoptable.... it was a rude awakening to the plight of children, shortage of homes, and adoptions........ Linda

HI Juliana, Thank you very much for sharing this very lovely poem with everyone. It is hard to believe that some people can actually turn away from helping our children. It is a sad thing to know that there are so many uncaring and heartless people that do not care about children that need our help! I pray that God can help these people see the importance of helping the innocent victims...our children of the world. Thanks again for sharing, Marilyn

Hello Mike & Everyone, What a beautiful, but heart breaking poem. Someone recently shared an acronym with me called, "NIMBY", which means "Not In My Back Yard". So often in life, people tend to look the other way, until something effects them personally, or someone very close to them. I can not help but to think, "Am I my brother's keeper"? There is only so much each individual can do, but so much more could be done if we would unite. Lets all put forth, all we can, to help make this world a better, and safer one.
