Donna, Daphne, Thanks for dropping in. Daphne, I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's experience. Of course we're all aware that it isn't always happily ever after. It wasn't for me the first time around, and that's not a rare occurence. Maybe your Mom will take hope from the true stories in this thread. Did you read through them? There are many inspiring ones here besides the one about my grandfather. As I was growing up and into my adult years, I was a big fan of Ann Landers, the advice columnist. I remember that she always had this advice for people who were sad and lonely...reach out to help others. It's a true fact that what we send out into the Universe returns to us--it's called the Law of Attraction. If we send love, love will come back. Maybe not romantic love, but spiritual love, that the early Christians called by the Greek word agape, or brotherly love. That's the true spirit of Mr. Steingart's poem. Cheri

Thanks Cheri. I enjoyed your story, and I enjoyed the stories of others who were inspired to share. I did not grow up around relatives as many people do. We lived hundreds of miles from them. Of course, there were visits, but that is not the same as more frequent contact. Lawton
