	Thank you Miguel. These are beautiful. I prefer some of his earlier works as they are a little simpler and clearer. This link might be interesting to those who admire Velázquez. Bacon is controversial, even after a few years of seeing his work but I found this very interesting. BACON/VELAZQUEZ

I was nor familiar with those paintings by Bacon but they are indeed interesting - particularly afrter you consider that Pope Innocent was no innocent soul at all! Thanks again, Miguel

	Quite incredibly, Saint Thomas' portrait on top was painted when Velazquez only was 20 - 21 years old. Ten years later, in 1632, Velazquez would paint the bottom one, which shows Saint Thomas Aquinas supported by angels in his fighting temptation.
