I hope whoever the Republican nominee will be, is planning to seriously think about Herman Cain's idea for "Opportunity Zones"...it's not just a problem in Detroit, it's all over our country, businesses closing, empty buildings that attract vandals and vagrants, declining neighborhoods, people moving away and never coming back, half-empty schools, emptiness, I hope whoever wins 2012 really does something productive about this, i don't know if people will come back to Michigan, maybe if the jobs do, the people will.

I'm hoping for Newt Gingrich to win Florida tonight AND eventually win the nomination. Mitt Romney has always been wealthy, never known what it's like to not be able to buy what he wants at the grocery store, never had to put something back on the shelf because he needed necessities for his family.

I had a great surprise today, the Republican Party office in Grand Rapids asked me if I want to be a Precinct Captain! :) YES, I DO! BO-OI-OI-OI-OIIIIIINNNNNGGGG!!!

That means I get to give out Republican pamphlets all over my neighborhood and urge people to vote Republican, I do that urging anyway every 4 years...and also definitely be invited to the convention in west Michigan and possibly be a delegate and help choose who the state of Michigan wants for our Republican candidate! YAY!!!
