By Robert Vaughan I am A I am reasonably Fit Individual, Eat Healthy, Exercise, and Try to Look After Myself.When I reached 50 Years of Age I discovered due to a Minor Urology Problem that I had a Slightly Enlarged Prostate Gland. This I understand is NOT uncommon in Men 50 and Over, and whilst it is NOT Dangerous it needs to be Monitored every Year.On top of this I have for many years suffered from High Cholesterol and Hereditary conditions, and once again that I have taken Symstavatins for around 30 years now.5 years ago whilst on Holiday in Goa, I had an Angina attack caused by a Blocked Artery and was rushed in to Hospital for an Emergency Angioplasty Operation, where a Stent was Fitted. Fortunately I was covered by a good Travel Insurance Policy which paid for the whole procedure, which cost £5,000.In December 2009, whilst undergoing a Routine Kidney Scan, it was decided that I have a Stent in one of my Main Arteries and to do a Chest and Abdominal Scan. During this scan it was discovered that I had a 5.4cm Aneurysm on my Aorta.It has been monitored for 3 Months, and in March I went back for another CT Scan, when the Aneurysm was observed to have increased in Size. The Consultant Surgeons at the Hospital have decided that it would be safer to do a Major Open Heart Surgery NOW to repair the Aorta.I am awaiting the exact date but have been told it will be scheduled for this May 2010.I love Life, I am naturally along with my Family anxious about my Condition, but I am also very fortunate that they found this problem before it could develop into a Fatal Conclusion.Being a Professional Entertainer, and Self Employed, I am told that I shall be in Hospital for up to 2 Weeks, and the recovery period after the Operation is 6 to 8 Weeks. I have Contracts with Hotels for Cabaret Work for the rest of this year, and have been fortunate to find other Entertainers who will cover me during this period.Being a very positive and optimistic person I am keen to get my Health problem resolved and carry on with a Normal Life after the Operation. I am a very active member of Adlandpro, and other Networking Sites too, and I have many friends here.
