Hi again Roger, I have just found another work by Modigliani that is even closer than the previous one to make me WOW. Sorry I did not remember it, nor did I have it among my own collection of his paintings in my archives. But as it is, it is really masterly as a portrait. I guess that like the one before, despite the elongated style, the likeness to the man portrayed must have been astounding. Amedeo Modigliani - Portrait of Max Jacob (1916) But I had better stop showing his works till the thread proper is set up, lest we run short of them before time.
By the way, you may have noted that I have changed the initial photo for one of Modigliani himself with one of his famous portraits of his one-in-a-lifetime sweetheart, Jeanne Htbuterne, on the back. It was used to open an exhibition of his work, Modigliani y su tiempo, last year in the Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza of Madrid.
Thank you,
Luis Miguel G.
