I know some people get lonely when they live alone, especially widows. I have a friend who lost her husband many years ago, but still mourns him and is depressed that he is gone. Then there are some who seem perfectly content to live alone. Some of them stay busy with various projects or getting together with friends, but there are some true loners, too.

Yes, I think it is healthy to reach out to others. It certainly makes the time seem to go by faster and it tends to take your mind off of your troubles or physical pain.
