ARTICLE OF VIRTUE with Kathy Hamilton
10/3/2009 6:28:44 PM

Hello my good ALP friends, again we in AOV-Team are thrilled to bring to your reading pleasure, yet another enchanting episode of your invigorating Article of Virtue, featuring one of the foremost and amiable personalities in our community – Lady Kathy Hamilton.
In this October and highly informative edition, our dear Kathy is practically taking us through one of the factors that greatly influence our character, personality, and most importantly, our success. This factor is the impacts of the things we learn from ourselves, the people around us and the environment as well as how we respond to these things.
Kathy has not hidden the fact that she has passed through tills and thorns, including domestic violence, in her life’s journey; but the salient point she has made with this eliciting article is her ability to survive those setaceous times and converting her experience into success through the process of gradual but positive rebuilding of herself.
Here, Kathy believes we can all achieve whatever we desire for ourselves no matter the situation we find ourselves as long as we are ready to adopt and develop a positive mindset for success. She has taken time to enumerate this unquantifiable process in this article.
This is a must-read literature for every member of our community and beyond. You are bound to learn new things about cultivating and grooming the right mindset for peace and success.
Thank you Lady Kathy Hamilton for sharing a lovely work with us.

REBUILDING YOUR LIFE AGAIN
By Kathy Hamilton

Well most of you know me, my name is Kathy Hamilton formerly Kathy Martin. It has been a long amazing journey for me.  Let me start by saying that I lived my whole life in “Domestic Violence” until there came a point in my life where I said "NO MORE".
So I decided to start changing my life, trying slowly to somehow rebuild it the way I wanted it to be. You see, about 4 years ago I found this Community online that literally started the ball rolling to change my life. It was the most magical place ever where I met amazing people.

I had a chance to express myself and so many amazing people came forth and told me their stories as well. Over time, I decided I was going to make a difference in other people’s lives because of what I passed through, by sharing my heart and feelings with them; always trying to be there to listen and to help if I could or just be a friend.

I have been through so much in the last 4 years it has been quite amazing. Through my travels and social networking, I have encountered very hurtful people who do not understand that their words are so damaging and that once you say something ugly, you cannot take it back easily. I have also met many wonderful friends and exciting opportunities; so I try to coach these men and women on how to empower themselves to better their lives and others too. In the process, I have also experienced my own self growth by leaps and bounds. Funny and great things do happen when you are passionate about what you believe in and become so determined to succeed in everything you truly desire.
If we all re-evaluate our lives and just make one small positive change each day, then our lives would change so dramatically for the better. As the saying goes "You are what you think". So I Continue to walk by faith and continue growing in my journey in life making my life better as I equally help others make theirs better too. Make sure you keep this in mind and we can make a huge difference in each other’s life. Open your hearts and experience the joy in your life.

The Greatest discovery of my life is that I found out by being able to change my life I was changing the attitude of my mind. Someone once said "Take charge of your thoughts, you can do what you will for them". So there I changed the way I think. It was for me alone, for I had to form a new and better thought pattern to give me victory over myself. I decided to put my personal discovery into action so others can learn from me and I learn from them too.
Altogether too many people are defeated by the every day problems of life. They go struggling, perhaps even whining through their days with a sense of dull resentment at what they consider the bad breaks life has presented to them. It is a shame that people should let themselves be defeated by the problems, cares, and difficulties of human existence, and it is also unnecessary.
I certainly do not ignore hardships and tragedies of this world, but I do not allow them to dominate me. By learning how to cast out dominating factors from ones mind and by refusing to become mentally subservient to them you can rise above obstacles which ordinarily might have defeated you.
Obstacles are simply not permitted to destroy my happiness and well being. I teach people around the World how to have faith in themselves and in their abilities. Without a humble heart and true confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy. I teach People affirmations such as "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me" My passion is to help everyone around the world to have faith in themselves and believe in their natural gifts and talents. I want to be able to help empower men and women around the world to achieve their goals, dreams, gifts and financial success. This is what I try to teach others around the WORLD along with teaching my self.

My best friend, John MacNaught, has been my inspiration in helping me heal and has been the biggest influence in my life, my self growth along with others. He is my Mentor and I want to acknowledge him for helping me change my life positively forever. Thank you John.
Sometimes stress and worry can spiral out of control and they can add to that feeling of despair. We can create our own personal problems and walk around with a permanent grey cloud unaware because we continually repeat the hurt and upset that we have been feeling. Our minds will focus on an upsetting event and constantly play the event over and over again.
Imagine if you were made to watch a scary horror film - how do you feel after you have watched the film? Imagine watching the film on ten occasions one after the other - how would you feel? Repeating the hurt that you have received helps no one. You become more negative and people avoid you, and you in turn become more frustrated and add to the problem.

The problem of repeating negative emotions such as anger, hatred, and mistrust is very serious. When we repeat the hurt we relive it and we make it look, feel and seem bigger, we have created a monster that does not actually exist.
If you feel that this is happening to you, you need to take a break, re-assess and take a different perspective.
The following ideas may help you:
-         Make your own self care plan and keep it with you for life. If things are getting too much, revert back to your self care plan. Sometimes we do forget to look after ourselves, or don't know how to.
-         Focus on something else: Getting away from your troubles will allow you to reflect differently.
-         The solution to life's troubles is sometimes right under our noses and focusing on something else helps us to see things differently.
-         Relax; do not add to your busy life: A good old fashioned day off is just what the doctor ordered. Do the things that comfort you; take a nice hot bath, read a book, eat chocolate, or have a massage
-         Do not drink alcohol: Alcohol is a depressant and will make you feel more depressed the next day. Using alcohol to try to solve your problems will inevitably lead to further feelings of despair,
-         Eat regular meals that are well balanced and contain the correct nutrients: Skipping meals adds to fatigue and stress. Certain foods are mood boosters.
-         Get a good night's sleep: After a good night's sleep we begin the day in a better frame of mind. Try and keep to the same routine. Go to bed at 10 pm and rise at about 7 am.
-         Happiness List: Make a list of all the things that make you feel happy. Carry the list with you and read it once in a while. Focus on the feeling of happiness. Do the things that make you feel happy and treat yourself.
-         Help Others: Helping others helps you. By making someone else's life more pleasurable you gain friendship, support, skills, respect and new opportunities.
-         Have fun, be spontaneous and decide to do something new: Push your boundaries and enjoy the moment.
-         Exercise: Exercise has been proven to lift your mood. You do not have to be super fit as 20 minutes of exercise a day is all you need to do. Start slowly and build yourself up. Exercise has to be fun otherwise you will not commit to getting fit.
-         Meet new people or start a new hobby: The old saying "A change is as good as a rest" is certainly true. A new direction in life can offer new opportunities. Education is an attitude of mind and helps to broaden your experiences. Look in your local library or town hall. Research groups on the internet.
-         Play Music: Classical music works on different levels and has a soothing effect on your mind, body and soul. The power of music is astonishing.
-         Write Poetry: Writing poetry allows us to express our inner feelings and helps us make sense of our world.
-         Start the day with Meditation: Your perception of the world starts with you. Starting the day with a clear mind allows you to concentrate and listen clearer. Qualities such as patience, calmness and tolerance develop.
By becoming more centered you co-operate and have the ability to choose your responses to difficult situations.

Thank you so much Sam, for this opportunity; it is truly a blessing to be featured here in your Article of Virtue forum.
Blessings to you all my friends!

CO-HOST REVIEW
Dear Sam, I really appreciate you asking me to review Kathy's article. As usual, you have caught me off guard.
Kathy's article really has a special effect on me as I could relate so closely to it.  I have shared the impact and experienced the freedom of choosing my attitude and my thoughts at the beginning of every day.
I have felt the despair and learned how gratitude can counteract it.
Kathy has done a superb job of sharing her experiences, thoughts and feelings with us.  She has indeed been on a journey and has done an absolutely wonderful job of bringing it to life.  She has shared the lessons she has learned, and the passion and depth with which she has brought it to life here is to be much admired.

Dear Kathy,
I feel very happy and honoured to be given the opportunity to write a little review about your wonderful AOV. Thank You Sam!
First, I want to mention that reading your article gave me the occasion to get to know Kathy a little better and, to discover that we had much in common… especially regarding Self-Growth on our own Path of Life and Making a Difference in Peoples’ Life. What a Treat!
Rebuilding Your Life Again” is such an Appropriate Title. In my opinion, it reflects about the whole Purpose of Life itself – through our own Life Experiences (good or bad), getting to know ourselves better, finding out about what it is that we really want and, then, learning to be and act as a Co-Creator in Rebuilding Our Own Life Again – each day, more and more as we want it to be. Challenging at times… Amazing always!
I want to CONGRATULATE You on Taking Full Responsibility of Your Own Life! As for Karen in the previous AOV who took responsibility of her own life regarding health issues, You took responsibility of your own life regarding violence issues. “I lived my whole life in “Domestic Violence” until there came a point in my life where I said “NO MORE” I love these inspiring examples demonstrating about our own individual POWER!
Taking responsibility is the First and Fundamental Step in bringing about TRANSFORMATION of our Life. I personally feel so sad to observe so many people in our society placing their own Power in the hands of everyone else… being the government, the doctor, the parent, the boss, the spouse or anything else around them and, then, complaining about their life as if they were only Victims of Life Circumstances.
By Taking Responsibility and Becoming Co-Creator into Transforming Our Lives, we turn ourselves into a Live Example that it is indeed possible and, then, others can be inspired in following the way to transforming their own life as well… thus, Making a Difference.
Kathy, I deeply feel that You are such an Inspiration sharing through your own life experience as in this AOV about Real Integrated Life Lessons and not just about theoretical values and concepts making this AOV so much more powerful. People can relate, connect and, then, consider using some of the wonderful ideas that you shared with us here as they feel fit with each and every one of them.
Kathy, your AOV is an Outstanding Wake Up Call!
THANK YOU so much for sharing with us about Your Heart and Life Experiences!
Way To Go My Friend…, as I personally feel that transforming ourselves helps transform others and our whole World through ONENESS!
Love and Blessings!

I know we over use some words but Kathy's Article of Virtue thread is   A M A Z I N G  !!!!

This simple picture says so much

I found this thread in Sam's forum by using the POSTS tool over on the left.  It doesn't work as good as the "old" one on the AdlandPro that "used to be" but I was still able to see a note that someone wrote here.  I'm so glad I found it and read Kathy's philosphy.

I know she helps lots of other people. I see notes all over Twitter, Adland and Facebook written by people I've never met all thanking her for her contribution to their lives.

Kathy is "The Angel of Adland" and I'm so glad I met her.  She is a very successful and intelligent woman. Thanks Kathy.  Congratulations on being the October Article of Virtue member.

Your friend,

Pat

Thank you Sam, this is such an honour and thank you every one. You see 4 years ago my life changed because I found Adlandpro and it literally changed my life. I had hope and I never gave up. So many wonderful people gave me the strength to keep looking ahead and were very supportive of me. If I had not found this community my life would not be what it is today. I met David Peoples from Adlandpro and without his amazing generosity in helping me to relocate and start my life over I  just would not have accomplished what I have in my life. Thank you David.

Also Thank you to all the amazing friends through the years that have supported me here at Adlandpro. Also Thank you to Bogdan Fiduir owner of Adlandpro for putting me in my place when I was going off track.

This is a great place of special friendships through thick and thin.
