Hi Roger,
Come back and post more about your personal experiences when you have the time.
I know that keeping active is very important when you have arthritis or any kind of pain. Exercise is vital to keeping our bodies from deteriorating more quickly. I think the "use or lose it" statement applies to joints. If we don't exercise them they "gel" or become stiff.
Actually, I am not supposed to take anti-inflammatory drugs, either, because I am prone to gout and they make it more apt to occur. Occasionally I take Tylenol, when I need to get "the edge off" the pain at least. Nothing takes it away completely, at least nothing narcotic, and I do not take narcotics, although I know that some people need to do so because of extreme pain some days.
