God's Precious Name

“MY  GOD”

Exodus 20:7 “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain;

for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”(KGV)

By Rev. Dean Beaty 3/30/09

When I hear someone exclaim my Heavenly Father’s name,

I want to ask them this, “Which god is it you claim?”

They know not what to say with an odd and puzzled look.

I help them out and say, “The God of this here book?”

“Since there are many gods just which one do you mean,

The god of wood or gold or the One that can’t be seen?”

Allah, maybe Buddha or the god of this present age?

If it’s the Father’s name you’ll reap a sinful wage.

Satan is a god and he’s worshipped by a few.

Jehovah is my God, is He your Father too?

Of course I know the answer; no saint would use that name,

To make an expletive and thus His name profane.

How you use the Father’s name tells a lot to me.

Do you flinch in shame when you hear it on T.V?

If you use God’s name preceding it with “my”

You will face those words in judgment by and by.

Unless you use God’s name as Christ did on the cross?

When speaking to His Father while saving man from loss.

As children of the King and sons of God above,

Only use God’s name when speaking it in love
