Sunny Greetings from California, Roger!

Welcome back to the Around the World Photo Club!

I am sorry for this late response to your post.
I have been out of town for several business conferences lately.

It seemed that you had a wonderful time with your grand daughter at the birthplace and home of Prime Minister Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace. Sir Winston Churchill has been always one of my favorite world leaders. The world needs more great and strong leaders like Sir Winston Churchill.

Many thanks for sharing some of the photos of such an amazing palace. I know for sure that I will definitely go wild with my shuttle bugging in Blenheim Palace. :-) It is said that Blenheim Palace is one of the finest examples of English Baroque architecture and the marbles and porcelain around the palace are marvelous. I hope that I will be able to visit the palace someday soon.

Despite a very hectic schedule, I have managed to capture some incredible cloud formations during my recent business trips. Here is one of my favorite photos from my Clouds series.

I also have brought you one of my favorite photos from my
Ground Cover series. These wild violets help keeping weeds from invading my garden too fast.

I love these violets as they are so delicate.

I hope that you'll enjoy these photos

I appreciate your friendship and frequent participation on this photo club, Roger.

I look forward to seeing your next photos soon.

Until next time--

Have a Blessed Week!

Sunny Greetings from California, Vivienne!

Welcome back, my dear friend!

I have been away again for several business conferences. This time of the year is quite busy for me with many off line obligations. Like you said, it is very good to be busy. It just requires me to be organized and manage my time better as I set priorities. Sometimes it can be a challenge because I often want to do it all. :-)
I really appreciate your being understanding about my tardiness here.

Many thanks for sharing your photos of those beautiful blossoms. I have looked them up in my catalogs and garden books. I think that those flowers are Delosperma Stardust. They seem to thrive in a mild climate.

It makes me very happy to know that you enjoy this photo thread. I feel very much the same way. This photo club provides me an outlet to share, with some of my friends here who enjoy photography as much as I do, my favorite pictures of things that have caught my interest. I seem to be almost constantly pointing my camera at various things in my surroundings. :-)

Vivienne, I'd like to share with you one of my favorites photos from my Animal Series.

In early spring of this year, the local chapter of California Greyhound Adoption Association had a booth at one of the community events in my hometown of Clovis and showed several retired greyhounds available for adoption. I had the opportunity to take a picture of this beautiful greyhound. I understand that greyhounds make wonderful and loving pets. The folks at the California Greyhound Adoption Association do screen very carefully the prospective applicants who want to adopt the retired greyhounds.

I feel very blessed with all my bulb flowers. They faithfully bloomed for me even when I have been too busy to work in my garden. Here is a photo of one of my Asiatic Lilies.

This Asiatic Lily has been with me for six years. Their blossoms make me very happy every year as they last about three weeks.

I hope that you'll enjoy these photos.

I really appreciate your friendship and sharing your favorite photos on this photo club, Vivienne.

I look forward to seeing your next photos soon.

Until next time--

Have a Blessed Week!

Sunny Greetings from California to Friends and Fellow Photographers!

Every time I use my digital camera, I feel so blessed as it gives me so much joy to capture many special moments and amazing creatures and nature wherever I am. My digital camera allows me to take as many pictures as I want without worrying about the cost of film or developing fees. I can take many photos of the same subject with different camera positions, different lighting, different compositions. Load them up. If I love them, I keep them. If not, I just delete them. Then try again.

I have been lucky that most of my photos turned out right. I often show some of my not-so-good pictures to a buddy of mine who is a professional photographer and ask for his opinion and advice. I try not to make the same mistakes next time I shoot.

I have been learning about still life photography. Since I enjoy photographing fruit and vegetables, I applied some techniques about lighting and composition to one of my favorite photos below:

If you had a chance to taste this deliciously sweet tropical fruit, I would love to hear about your experience.

Until next time --

Have an Awesome Weekend!
