Hello JoAnne, I sincerely hope your day is
going great. I'm really sorry you're
receiving so much flack here at ALP lately.
Amazing isn't it how the ones criticizing
you appear to have selective memory?
If they would just look back they would see
that the whole thing started because
someone yelled foul over the POTY election
and that someone wasn't you.
Also the ones running from forum to forum
preaching brotherly love don't realize how
insincere they come across. In one forum
they're into character assassination and the
next they're preaching love and forgiveness.
Such hypocrisy is enough to turn your stomach.
JoAnne just to let you know I am honored to
call you my friend.
Evelyn

Sunny Greetings from California, Sara!

Thank you for stopping by and for sharing your personal experience with ID theft.

As I mentioned to Alain, the internet has become such a vast haven for many cyber criminals and we can easily become a victim of identity theft any time.

Many thanks for sharing the link. I will check it out soon
.

Until next time--

Have a Great Weekend!

Sunny Greetings from California, my dear friend Geketa!

I hope that you are having better weather in Kentucky today.

Many thanks for coming in and for sharing your thoughts on ID theft.

You are so right with your statement: "
They have so many tricks to get our information it's almost a full time job just keeping ourselves safe."

I now have to check for any suspicious activities on my credit card accounts more frequently. It is time consuming. However, I know that it is important to take steps to prevent ID theft from happening in the first place.

I value your friendship and support, Geketa.

Until next time--

Be Safe and Shalom!

Sunny Greetings from California to my dear Tennessee friend Evelyn!

I truly appreciate you taking time to share your thoughts here.

Evelyn, I am fully aware that certain people in this community do not like my Town Cried threads. However, that won't stop me from speaking the truth. As I mentioned before,
the purpose of this Town Crier thread was to call attention to all AdLanders about potential risks to their credit card and bank accounts and to offer the advice from legal experts and cyber crime specialists that I consulted on how anyone can protect his or her identity, credit card, and bank accounts. The advice is appropriate for anyone anywhere who feels that the security of their identity or credit card and bank accounts may be at risk.

As you well know, certain people in this community obviously thrive on dishing out intimidation, hypocrisy, back-stabbing, spewing hatred, tirades, and revenge. They love to continue creating animosity with hateful words. It seems that these people spend a lot of time and energy dwelling on a number of past controversies. Apparently the only way these hateful people can get any attention is to stir up old controversy, under the banners of celebration and love. They expound shamelessly their most venomous words next to their highest praises for unconditional love, friendship, forgiveness, peace, and God.

Evelyn, I am proud to have you among my true friends in this community. I do not and never will want to trade my true and real friends for the sake of being accepted, liked and popular within the circle of pretentious "friends" who fit into the above descriptions.

I appreciate your friendship and support, Evelyn.

Until next time--

Have a Blessed Weekend!

Alert of the Week: Scam & ID Theft Targeted FaceBook Users
Copyright © 2009 by JoAnne Green. All Rights Reserved.

Hello All!

On February 24, 2009, syndicated high tech columnist Mike Wendland wrote an article on Detroit Free Press to warn Facebook users about the recent scams and ID theft targeting Facebook users.

Mr. Wendland wrote:
Facebook users beware: A new variation of an old scam tries to trick users into installing a program that security experts say could grab personal information.

Beside trying to install a program on the user's Facebook page, the scam sends users to a Web site that offers to show them who has a romantic crush on them -- if they sign up for a recurring $5 monthly service service plan.

When users clicked on the message seeking more information about the problem, they were prompted to install a Profile Error Check application. They then were presented with another screen that offered an activation box to correct the problem.

Clicking that box led to a site offering to show them which Facebook friends were online crushes. Buried in fine print were terms that collected user info and credit card numbers for the monthly fees.
Mr. Wendland offered those Facebook users who installed the Profile Error Check application by mistake the following steps of how to remove it: (1) Click on Applications. (2) Then click Edit in the top right-hand corner of the application pane. (3) Locate error Check system, then click the X beside it to remove the application. (4) A window will appear confirming this action. Select Remove to completely remove the application.
