Your Prayers are Appreciated
1/13/2009 4:06:43 PM
Hi everyone,

I would like to request your prayers for my church, my family, and I.

I am the pastor of our church and was working at an outside job as well, when I became too sick to work outside the church anymore.  I last worked at the shop back at the end of October.

God has looked after us and continues to provide for us, but my health is not improving.  Our church is small and needs a healthy pastor to get out into the community.  We also help to support several missionaries and could use the financial support of me being able to work outside the church, as well.

My next appointment with the specialists is on Tuesday, January 20th.  Please pray that they are able to get to the bottom of this and that I will be able to get well.

(Please do not send me health supplement offers, etc.  You would not believe how much of this kind of stuff I have already seen and looked at. )

God bless,

Pastor Dave

Brother Dave,   I will certainly pray as you have asked, when I pray, and I do have full confidence that God has already heard you and will hear all who sincerly pray about this, and ofcourse will answer and likely already has the answers in mind and action.

If I were to share anything this is what I feel to share...during a very serious trial in our lives, which had very real potential to negatively change the course of all of my immediate family and my life, my husband given a vivid vision that remains as a revelation to me about life. We were in a room and a line drawn and the possible life alteration stood on the other side of the line and a "white figure" stood between on the line. "IF" my family crossed over this line, which was shown that they did in the vision, the white figure led members of my family up a new path.

I have a knowing today that remains that we Do Not walk this life alone but are led, even when any kind of "changes" occur whether they are Godly changes or changes influenced by even satan. I add here that only the members who remained in God's graces were led by the white figure but those who followed the will of the flesh were not!  I feel certain Dave, that no matter what happens, God already has control and a planned course for the future of the church and you too.

Now I feel to say, "the battle is not ours but the Lord's," and so, also, the will we must seek and will prosper to seek, is the Lord's.  I was told a statement once that struck me at the time as very profound and not so obviously simple:  "The will of God and the will of man are 2 separate things."

I am thinking and feeling, the church "will" be ok, but today's issue is really...your healing. So if the welfare of the church is truly your only deepest concern, don't fear, all will be well, but if part of this is concern for your health, it is your healing we need to pray about.

I want to encourage you out of faith I have due to something I've seen myself.  I had the amazing pleasure of seeing my husband "see" the Lord as he lay on what appeared a death bed, and 45 minutes later he was standing healed. It was dramatic and amazing and real! He said during the time he wa sso extremely weak, "I have to sleep awhile because He's got to do some things in me." He slept for those 45 minutes and I turned and saw him standing and well.

This occurred after my husband, after a year of severe despair, admitted in desperation to God that he had exhausted "All" his human resources to help and heal the situation, and begged for "God's" mercy and help.

One other thing God taught me once...during a certain deceptive trial I had.  When I prayed to be enlightened to the truth, it was as if I heard that "until" I was willing to not only accept whatever God would tell me but also "believe it," he would not reveal the truth to me.  That particular time I was able to sincerely surrender to "whatever" God would tell me, though I knew there was chance it would not be what I wanted to hear, and then immediately I began to "see" and did see more as the days went by what the Real truth was.

So by this I have myself learned to seek God's will, even if it may be contrary to...the will of man...(my will).  So in your case I wonder...what is God's will concerning your furture and the church's?  We do know his will is for us to pray for each other that we may be healed.  Nowhere though does it say his will is that you be healed so the church will survive and prosper.  I don't say that at all to be cruel, but only to enlighten us to a different perspective...that possibly God has a different plan and idea for the future than we do which may work in better ways that we cannot yet even perceive.

Please know I say this out of sincerity and a good heart, not out of any cruelty, and that in this, I do believe this...

That God so often gives us exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ask or think....by his will, which often has nothing to do with ours yet exceeds the hopes of ours!

                                                          Love Sis Kim

Hi

I'm sorry to hear your not doing well, Dave. I will pray for the request you ask for! I'm hoping when seeing the specialists they will find the problem so they can start helping you.

God Bless YOU

Warm Regards

Hi Sister Kim,

Thank you so much for your very encouraging post.  It is a blessing, indeed.

I do very much believe that God is in complete control, and that this fits very much into his plan.  Already, I have seen some of the ways that it has been a blessing, even though it is very difficult to go through (the fiery trial?).

I do believe that God wants his people to pray, and the prayers of his people are part of the way he works his marvelous plan in this world.

Thank you for your prayers.

God bless,

Bro Dave
