Hi Jerilyn, Yes rescue or shelter dogs are the best. I have 3. 2 I got from a shelter in Defiance, Ohio a golden retriever mix and a chihuahua mix. I started working for a vet in Ft Wayne, Indiana in 2007 and 2 weeks after I started working there a Jack Russell was brought in to be put down due to seizures. Guess what happened the people surrendered the dog and yours truly adopted her. Her name is Mandy Mocha and she is the sweetest one little girl I have ever met. She loves everybody and takes her seizures (I call them short circuits) in stride. They are very infrequent and not very severe. I am glad I was able to save her life. Shelter dogs make the best dogs shelter cats make the best cats. Thanks for doing what you do to help the animals Jerilyn You are definitely an Angel to all Animals. Leslie

I believe shelter pets and those that are being giving up know what is happening.

It was very hard for me not to bring home all the shelter animals when I was a hands on volunteer.

I still have hopes to one day have a rescue/sanctuary.

Not being able to physically do the work means I have to have lots of cash to pay for helpers.
