Yello my ALP friend,

Just to show my sincere appreciation to all of your that have already responded to our latest post on Marilyn's article. I am happy her views are shAred by most of us. Our women in my opinion should dress for respect, comfort and to live rather than dress for seduction and to kill.

This is by far going to be a very busy week particularly to our American friends who are feverishly preparing to elect their next president and by extension the rest of all all over ther world that would be ernestly looking forward to the result of this ground breaking electioneering process.

We are wishing our American friends a most successful election and pray that the BEST candidate clinch the exalted and most respectable office in the world - THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT.

Hi Sam ,

Thank you for another great Article of Virtue.

Marilyn’s article is very good. I think that we could have a very long conversation about dressing.  Men and women used to dress in different ways during the centuries but always there were some people who dressed in an eccentric way.  Either in Roman Empire, women ostensibly dressed modesty but in their personal life were not so modest.  In 19th century, high class women wore long dresses but everyone could see their breast.  In 20th century, many women wore dresses that let their back uncovered up to their waist and especially in late 60’s and early 70’s almost all women (young and older) had wore miniskirts. Those days too, there were a lot of people complaining that this kind of dressing is against the rules in communities.

I don’t like either to see so many naked bodies around me but still I don’t know if all these women are dressed this way because they feel better or just because they are fashion victims or t.v. and cinema victims. Nowadays, everything is commercial and advertising. In USA first and then in all countries, perfect body is a “must” and most of women are in beauty institutes very often, just to keep their bodies in a perfect condition. Then, they want to show this body by wearing as less clothes as they can. Exterior appearance is “all the money”.   As moral values have been lowered, dressing code changed to the worst.

We have a saying in Greece : “Robes don’t make the priests” . So, although I agree that this way of dressing is not what I would like to see, I still am not in a place to criticize it as I’m not in those women age and I don’t know how they feel when they show their bodies.

Best regards,

Dimitra

Thank you Sam for the invite my dear friend, and to Sara what an awesome intro God_bless you my dear friend. Im impressed with Marilyn's topic of woman and the dress code that should be an issue in our currant way of living, i often read Timothy 2:15 to develop a skill of what is needed, to understand what God is trying to communicate with us all concerning ones lifestyle, in this case a dress code, a sign of respect, what God is teaching in this passage is that to handle God's word correctly we must have respect for it. To handle God's words correctly we must spend time studying it. To handle God's word correctly we share it with a godly attitude, Timothy 2:24-26 is a good read for that. No one can handle the Word correctly without understanding the difference between the Old and New Testament's. Marilyn you sertantly have a right to have an opinion of how people should act and thats commendable of you and is fair to say about the dress codes in schools are not inforeced as they should be i think, family and what is inforeced in your homes are whats important to God, we must pray for the ones who don't realize or at least don't understand what they are doing for God's sake and sometimes for our own familys as well. Thank you Mariynfor inroducing to us your views on this matter, God_bless you and your family :)  Thomas

Thanks Sam for setting up this forum.

Thanks Marilyn for the topic here.

In the muslim world I can see that many women are pushing this too far, but on the other hand I must agree that many younger women who grow up in today´s society are definitely dreesing themselves inappropriate and not with purity.

Especially christian women should be a good example here and show the world how to dress appropriate.

With this said, men must also think about it, and develop character in their lives too.
