Hi Joe,
Today is the day that I found your thread about the attacks on US soil...9/11/2001 was a grim day for the USA and all who oppose terrorism.
Yesterday for me was a day of sobering remembrance. There were more people killed in these vicious attacks than were killed in Pearl Harbor which compelled the US to enter World War 2.
We must never forget what happened & we must never forget that their are those whose sole mission is to destroy democracy and the freedoms that it stands for.
Around the world and in the US we must keep opposing terrorism, no matter where it happens. War is horrible and as long as human beings have lived they have fought against each other. In spite of God's example to love...mankind has wanted to control and manipulate and destroy. Have we not learned the lesson of history still? Can we not see that there are forces of good versus evil in the world? We must never give up hope, but we must know in whom our hope lies. Love does conquer, but we can't conquer anything without the help of the ONE who gives us the ability to love in the first place.
Fortunately, we have the perfect example of love, peace, patience, mercy, & kindness. All who set their mind and hope on HIM will indeed be an instrument of His peace and love.
We can not appease evil, individually or corporately. But we can oppose it by standing for what is righteous, good, kind and loving. God's ways are loving, merciful and kind and we can judge an ideology on the basis of the principals that it teaches. Anyone or any group who teaches that killing all infidels (those that don't believe their way) as the way to enter heaven or the way to gain honor is evil. Judging an ideology on that basis, we can know if someone or some group is of God or is not of God. Until the Lord comes back and the world is totally redeemed from the falleness of mankind, we must continue to oppose evil. The Lord will finally conquer ALL evil once and for all when He returns for us.
Thank you Joe for honoring those who lost their lives on 9/11 and for continuing to remember the families.
With Love and Remembrance
Cheryl
