SCHOOL TIME! Hi - Did everyone get their back to school shopping done. I hope you found lots of great sales. School supplies can be very spendy, not to mention all the new clothes. Can you believe it's SEPTEMBER? School's starting Wednesday in this part of the country. Soon all you mom and dads with athletic and talented children will have your hands full. Here are a couple of ideas that will hopefully keep the kids entertained when you need some peace and quiet. COOL CRAFTS OLDER KIDS/SAND CANDLES: Have you ever seen those pretty SAND CANDLES at the store? I just love them. Here is a project I found for the older kids. This requires some ADULT supervision - during the heating and pouring of the hot wax and while the wick is being inserted. You'll need: Salt: about one third box for each candle , Empty baby food jar, Candle wick, about 2 inches long, Food coloring, Paraffin wax or candle wax, Empty can to melt wax in, Double boiler, Small bowl for each color of salt. These SAND CANDLES are not only easy to make - they are fun and they make great gifts. Remember Valentines Day, Mother's Day and Grandparents day will be here quick enough.
