	Affiliate Ad Copy Trina L.C. Sonnenberg I am so popular, and apparently so broke it's not funny! I get email messages from so very many people. They all say the same thing too. Everyone, it seems, wants to give me free stuff, help me get out of debt, and show me how to make more money. Do you get messages like: Learn to Explode Your Downline (why? are they bad people?) Tell All Your Friends About This (am I your friend?) Your Click Bank Commissions (what commissions?) Get More Traffic to Your Website I'll Pay Your Way In... $97.36 Per Hour Guaranteed Recruit 80-300 people free (is this the army?) Do you believe these headlines? Does anyone really become inspired to read these messages as a result of reading headlines like that? I'm inspired to hit delete without opening them. Who writes that garbage anyway? Well... I'll tell you: The same gurus who have suckered thousands into joining their programs or buying their products with the promise of affiliate riches, that's who. This is known as pre-written ad copy. Try to remember back to the message you received that made you take a look. Is it the same as what you've been given, as an affiliate, to use for advertising? Probably not. It must be remembered that gurus have affiliate programs for one reason: To make a bunch of money, playing the numbers game. Affiliate programs are not set up so that the affiliate can make a bunch of money. It can happen, but it isn't the rule. Affiliate programs allow the owner to do very little work marketing their deal, but get great returns. They write some compelling ad copy, share it with a JV partner or two, and send out a mailing to their respective lists. People join the affiliate program, and now they've got a sales force who is not only selling a few deals here and there, but are also recruiting more affiliates who will add to the gross sales - their bottom line. Do you see why these guys are making so much money? Once they have an army of affiliates, it's pretty much hands off for them. They throw out some ad copy for affiliates to use, and the most obnoxious subject lines I've ever seen, and the affiliates use them to death! It is far easier to have 1000 affiliates sell one of their products each, than it is to sell 1000 of them all by themselves. They get the big money while the affiliates earn chump change. That is the numbers game they play. All the while, the affiliates are using the same copy as every other affiliate in the program and looking silly doing it. Come on, what do you really think happens when a mail box is filled with messages that all have identical subject lines? I'll tell ya... they all get deleted without being read. When I get a mail box full of the same thing, I assume that the deal is already saturated so why bother looking at it? Money can be made in the affiliate marketing game, but not with pre-written ad copy. Be original, write your own, or at the very least, come up with your own subject lines. Don't let your ads end up in the circular file. You could be promoting the world's best whatever, but if your email doesn't get read, your web site doesn't get a visit. You don't earn a commission.
