Hi Joe,
This was an exceptional read, I think I might have read it before. It has a very familiar sound to it.
I'm not surprised in the least to read Anamaria's and Sarah's posts here. Both good friends that I chat with often. Both "dreamers" and realists that have realized some (many) of their dreams.
I read the comment made in one of your threads and had to smile when I read it. The first thought that came to mind was "laughter is the best medicine".
Dreams do count and they add the spice to life. I was fortunate that most of my life i lived and worked at my dreams mostly on the real world.
I seriously doubt that there is anyone that hasn't had their own dreams whatever they might be. In the same vein there are many reasons why people don't realize theirs or even attempt to try to begin with and that is support or more correctly the lack of support of their loved ones, friends and family. The idea may be ridiculed, called impractical, not realistic, of no importance , who will buy etc. etc. etc.The list is endless of why nots most importantly how are you gonna support us, yourself in the meantime. The safety net of the monthly paycheck is very important to some and many can't see the opportunities beyond that. I've known many friends that went through episodes like that and and never attempted to try cos of lack of support.
On the other hand I read in yesterdays paper here in Israel of an inventor (Israeli) that won the first prize in a competition in Europe (thousands participated) for a towel dispenser for public places that has a built in washing machine and dryer that requires the owners to change only once a year rather then every time the roll is finished. He only won $50,000 and a trophy but there is no doubt that the "millions" will come too. A dream and idea that was realized. Can you imagine how many ridiculed the idea in its inception???
As I said in the beginning dreams do count!!!!
Shalom,
Peter
