Forum Postings EXTRA Safety Idea

Eileen: Was just looking at one of your posts about a Yahoo scam. And just had a idea to increase safety for all your viewers. When you show the contents of some scam emails so that we can see what they actually look like I noticed that the SCAM url is also shown. People who are aware of the purpose of this site could automatically assume that all links quotes here should be safe because they know you would never intentionally give us a dangerous link. Here is my suggestion for increased safety. When you quote a dangerous scam link IF you added the letters NOT immediately in front of the http (no spaces) it will make the link become a dud. A little alert box pops up on my system (Firefox browser) which says "nothttp" is not a registered protocol. Actually, I tested it using "not" in lower case letter rather than capitals as above. I also tested putting "scam" and "do-not-use" immediately in front of the http So you could use any short text of your own choice to make the link a dud. (If someone approached your Yahoo scam posting from the bottom of their screen like I did. Then they see the link BEFORE they see the warnings at top of post which explains the danger of that link.) Just a thought and hope it helps someone. P.S Anyone else trying to share bad email messages with friends could also de-activate their link in a similar way. Is this a workable idea? Wayne
