Regarding Melanie's post.
I think Melanie's post reflects the most common Attitude/Fear problem we all experience.
Moving out of our comfort zone.
That brings me to my Attitude/Fear problem. I don't like unsolicited e-mail. I'm not talking spam here, those are meaningless to me and are easily taken care of via my filters. I'm talking double opt-in leads etc., the ones you get when you sign up to look at a business. And not just receiving them but also sending them. If something is sent to me via an autoresponder, and I am paying for one of the best on the web, I can't bring myself to use it knowing that what I'd be sending isn't something that someone asked me for. Yet of the hundreds of BIZOPS I've looked at there aren't any that one is going to experience any real success with without e-mail marketing. Quite the dilema isn't it?
So that is, more or less, why I've quit eCommerce. That is, other than a few programs that are making me some money via my website and are actually support programs that anyone running any business can use to make THEM more successful.
On the other hand there is nothing regarding REAL LIFE sales and marketing which I'm uncomfortable with. With the one proviso being that I have to BELIEVE IN THE PRODUCT or SERVICE I promote.
Or as the #1 SALES TIP in the world states - ***NEVER sell a product or service. Sell YOURSELF.*** - It's really the only thing that people (need to) buy -.
To YOUR success,
Gunther G.
