bipartinship ? How is this possible ?

Dear Friends ,

when it comes to politics I'm no where near a expect and tend to not reply to post forums asking me my opinion , I have just a few question how doe's any party act or vote in a bipartinship way ?

Straight talk ? who in politics every say the whole true ? "True" meaning one doe not have to analyzes the statement ? I for one am tired of trying to figure out just what our GOV is trying to do for so called :The People" and not to fill their our pockets even in the worst of times. what happen to the American dream ? ask your POLITIC-ATIONS !

One bill or the next it seem someones pockets have to be include !

Just a very business minds thought this late hour in NJ whats yours?

Hi Joe Lee,
I believe that By Partisan vote means Change the wording of the proposal and pass it. Our politicians stopped carrying about how "We The People" felt a long time ago. If our elected officials were made to live like "We The People" have to live, they would change their tunes quickly. Take away their chaffeurs, Leer Jets, multiple houses, and make them drive their own vehicles like Chevy's or Toyotas instead of Mercedes Benzs and Rolse Royces, or better yet make them walk like I have to, let them get a foreclosure on their homes, and let them worry if they have enough money to buy the medications that will keep them alive and see how quickly they react. They want to pass this bill simply because they all have their hands in the pot and if the banks lose, they lose. They have all stood still for the past two or more years while they knew that this was going to happen and now they are running like rat's on a sinking ship. Truth is something that we will never get out of Washington, no matter how hard we try. Politicians are elected to "Serve The People" and they do. They Serve all the rich people in the world and now that those Rich people are losing their wealth, Washington is scrambling to fix it. If you remember your nursery rymes, "Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great Fall." Looks like there will be enough scrambled eggs to feed a country.

I could not resist. And I know you have seen my forum.
If you haven't then you should.

But in all honesty, there is no way to know which politician will be right for the job, unless you listen to them. Pay attention to them, and then you are still taking a chance by voting them in just because he's your party or your choice.

Pay attention to what they say, do you feel they mean what they say. Pay attention to what other people are paying attention to. Google them, Check their track record. See for yourself what they have already done and what they stand for. figure out, to the best of your knowledge, who in your mind would be the better man/woman for the job. If a politician goes in honest, chances are he won't come out that way.

Vote for the man who has done more for the people, who is for the people. working with the people, and care for the people. And now a days, it's hard to find one of these.

So, as I started out, my forum tells who I'm for. And I have my reasons. That's what you have got to figure out, what reasons you have for a certain choice.

Is this what you are asking? had in mind?

Yes I have read your forum my friend and as all my friends I respect your talking points as well as your opinion . Thank you for sharing your views with us and as far as googling for facts ? not very resourceful without hours to put into finding one that Hey happens to match ones thought pattern ,like paper/books all have the write to write down xxxx and call them facts as I'm sure in their own mind are. When do you hear of any of them for the Constitution? The way our forefathers set it up, They say all these things that people want to hear but, as soon as they get into office they do things their way. I am sick of the whole mess. You are right the only line their pockets. Forget the people.

Bi- Partnership? lets see, will this ever be true in todays world? and will my vote count, yes on both accounts. Being an Independant since 18 and having a hand in the voting process as a precinct inspector in both L.A. and San Diego countys for almost 9 years now, i can pretty much tell who gets elected. I cant wait to see what our running mates have to say on thursday night.

The Bipartisan Policy Center was established in 2007 to provide a forum for national dialog across party lines. An incubator for solutions to the tough national challenges of our time, the center engages top political figures, issues advocates, academics and business leaders in discourse to develop constructive, pragmatic, politically viable policies.

Four former Senate majority leaders joined together to establish the nonprofit organization and serve as its first advisory board: Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole and George Mitchell. Issues undertaken by the center include health care, energy, agriculture, transportation, national security and global warming. Its still a work in progress folks. Its called having Faith :)

Hi Lee,

Interesting topic and worth while discussing.

True bi-partisanship could be a thing of beauty but in most cases it boils down to self interest of the parties involved. Not necessarily for the good of the "people" but to find temporary favor in the eyes of their voters and to eventually line their own pockets in one way or another.

Finding a politician that is there "for the people" is like looking for a needle in a haystack. There are a few but not enough to cause the desired change within the present system.

In my opinion, the whole two party system is corrupt, so if we held a vote on which party was the most corrupt, we would still not be able to answer the question for they are both equally to blame.

There are no poor politicians, this we know, and most are millionaires plus, then we know, but what really stinks is when they can hide behind pork barrel issues while lobbiests can line their piggybanks with donations to campaigns where they can all legally tap money for whatever reason they can justify as an expense, meaning everything.

It is obvious we need change, but from an empty suit politician, who could really believe anything these self serving liars have to say? We have all been lied to from start, on every important issue, yet all we have a choice to vote for is another bobble head politician. Public is finally a little smarter, just look at the approval ratings of congress, surely will be less than 10% by they end of this current election season. lol

Both parties are only interested in getting reelected. Everyone that is in the senate and house should be voted out and 4 years later they should be voted out. Then we might get back to government by the people.

JoeLee, you have brought up a very interesting question about bi-partisanship. How many times have we seen such a concerted effort on the part of congress to pass a bill that actually did something " for the people ". They can't muster an ounce of bipartisanship when it comes to veterans benefits, health care, vote fraud. They come together nicely though when it is time to fleece the flock.

Mike made an excellant point when he stated that " the whole two party system is corrupt ". As long as we keep believing that at any given time, at least one of the parties is for the people, we will continue to live our lives at the mecry of both parties.

With regard to the Big Bailout, two things come to mind. " The Con " and " Extortion "

Just about everybody knows about the con man and how he persuades people to hand over their money for the sake of either saving more money or actually making money.

Extortion is a bit more complex. Here are two definitions of extortion. Can we see any of the elements of extortion present in the bail out package. I believe we can if we look close enough. Close as in Neon Sign From 2 feet away.

EXTORTION - The use, or the express or implicit threat of the use, of violence or other criminal means to cause harm to person, reputation, or property as a means to obtain property from someone else with his consent. USC 18

The Hobbs Act defines "extortion" as "the obtaining of property from another, with his consent, induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right." 18 U.S.C. S 1951(b)(2).

Good question and some good thoughts. I would like to give you the most simplest answer possible in explaining what has happened with our political friends. The reason everything has gone so bipartisan and governing for the political crowd is that the common everyday person has quit. It is that simple!

How many of the people you know are stuck behind a TV every day? How many waste their time doing things that will not help them or others improve their futures? How many write or call their representatives each week? How many attend political functions in their areas? How many try to ask the person in political office questions directly?

The people have quit communicating to the politicians so the politicians have quit listening.

Like for instance during the bailout speeches, one speech stood out to me (not to pick on anyone in particular, but these thoughts fit our discussion)...

"During this evening’s Senate vote, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) explains that she received 91,000 calls and emails, with 85,000 of them opposed to the measure. Even armed with the knowledge that 93% of her constituents passionate enough to contact her office pleaded for her to vote “nay”, she votes in favor of the bill, claiming that “there is a great deal of confusion out there” and these people “don’t understand” the situation."

Our politicians no longer thing WE THE PEOPLE understand issues. Maybe it is justified?

We can CHANGE this, by how often we communicate with our elected officials. Don't just write, email and call the Federal officials, call your locals too. I believe that WE can change the venue of politics, by being optimistic and involved.

Well stated Joe, and exactly right, and this is the problem with our broken two party system, we the people are not being represented honestly, never mind the fact we are not being respected at all by all these politicians.

The real issue is as you stated, our representatives are not listening to the people, they are nothing more than bobble heads which largely follow their party with no care what we think.

It is more than obvious this bail out has done nothing to help the people, just look at the markets, it went down 800 more points and although it came back a little, it is an out of control situation, and all those bobble heads who voted for bail out are the real ones to blame.

There is enough blame to go around in both parties, but the bottom line is we no longer matter, just look at this massive debt which is being piled on our shoulders, no matter what party line you vote on, you are going to be hit with the responsibility to cover this bail out, so remember that when you vote next time, check who voted no, and forget party lines, vote based on what you know, not what these lying bobble heads are saying as to reason why they voted yes.

A yes vote was nothing more than a coverup of truth. If people knew the real reason for bailout, they would be outraged, and this truth will come out sooner of later, but as most think it was to bail out wallstreet and banking, it was really about bailing out all those who bought this toxic subprime junk, and this includes more of the world banks, so although it was the wanstreet hedge funds that started finacial collapse, this bail out was for world banks, not U.S. banks.

As you hopefully know, we are a debtor nation, we owe trillions, and when world banks were threatening to call in their loans, the U.S. economy would have totally collapsed, so this was the real reason to first bail out world banks and buy back this toxic hedge fund mess which world banks mandated the U.S. do first, and this is why the $810B was needed right away. If not, then the tillions in debt would be called in, and guess what, the U.S. can't cover paying back trillions overnight. So when the truth comes out, remember which bobble head politicians sold us all out.

I can no longer blame the shortcomings of our government on the unwillingness of The People to participate in political affairs. This may have been the case a decade or two ago but not now. The people of this nation have risen up in numbers not seen since the 1960's. We do recognize the danger that we are in as a free nation and we are speaking out in hugh numbers but, we are being ignored to the point of being just another oppressed nation of whiners. While impeachment has been off the table according to Nancy Pelosi, it has been very much on the table according to "The People". Just look at the number of sites on the search engines where impeachment is clearly on the table of " The People". Why is nobody listening?

During the reign of the present administration we have witnessed the single largest assault on our constitution in our entire history. Our government now openly violates constitutional law, the Geneva Convention and virtually every other law known to mankind. Through the use of " presidential signing statements " President Bush has systematically dissolved nearly all laws of the land and has reduced the powers of the congress to the point of being little more than two roomfulls of rubber stamps.

To really understand what has been happening with our government and our future as a free nation , I believe we only have to look in two places. First, the signing statements above. 2nd, we need to look at the provisions established in the FEMA REX 84 Doctrine. After comparing the objectives of the FEMA REX 84 project with the signing statements of G.W. Bush, I believe it will become very clear to anyone, which direction we are being led in.

Then they rewrote it and added another 150 billion dollars worth of pork just to make sure that " We The People " strongly opposed the bill. What would anger " The People " more than taking their homes and their retirement accounts? Where will the millions of people go who have lost their homes and life savings? Is there a FEMA camp in your neighborhood?

Hi Lee and all,

Commenting on the American Dream concern that you brought up. The American Dream is being achieved by many these days. I have to admit that for a while in my life that I was not anywhere close to being on that road to achieving my dream. One day, I woke up! I realized that waiting for someone else to make decisions for the things that I should do in order to get there was a big waste of time and effort. It was always their dream that was the target.

I refocused my efforts, my purpose and my plan, of course. I got up off of my arse and created thoughts in my mind that would lead me to my path to achievement. During this time, I realized that there are many government officials that do not care if I achieve my dream or not.

Now here is where those that are optimistic about achieving their dreams and those that just want to complain about not being able too part ways. I use to blame the government laws on taxes, licenses, and all that stuff. It was different parties and politicians! A voice in mind was screaming, "WAKE UP FOOL!" I stopped listening to the nay sayers and started opening my mind to those who were achieving! Guess what? The universe began flowing achievement my way! Halelujah!!!

No matter what the tax laws are, one can create wealth. Sometimes it takes a bit more elbow grease. The questions I have about the American Dream, for myself, is "What are you going to do with your wealth?" With wealth, I intend to employ others in hopes to teach them the same methods. I intend to help feed thousands of the starving around this world. I intend to provide charitable contributions to special causes to help eliviate hardships for others. I intend to become influencial with political candidates to help put back ethics and doing "the right thing" in their mantras.

Being involved isn't something that is responded to next week by politicians. It takes months to years to make a difference and neither are our efforts in working towards our Dreams. If we want to achieve our Dreams Lee, then we must act partisan towards the goals necessary. Bipartisan actions would be in answering the famous question, "To be or not to be?" with an indecisive answer.

So, open your minds to those that "do the right thing" and you will too!
