The Expo Feedback
Posted: Jun 20 2007 06:21 PM

Hi Michael ( and the rest of the crew ).  That was a Great Idea and woked good, except we need more visitors, not only to the "fairground" but to check out the "tents" as well.

I have a few Ideas:

[1]  Establish a Marketable "Splash page" which Promote the Expo in a Eye Catching fashion.

Since the Expo is within the Community, the Splash page should contain an easy signup form [no redirecting or jumps], with minimal info required.  Since the Splash page will be promoted by us [members] the regular "bones" for referring should apply.

This will create a Unique Marketing Feature for ALP [check my records of exposure: hits/unique - times # of active expo idealists].   This could mean quite a big number of new ALP members / Community members.

[1a]  Add some few eye catching lines in the "community recruiting page" along with a good graphic, so we automatically promote the EXPO while promoting the community in the first place.

Each "tent" should carry an explicit "Name" or Number, so when referring to your tent, you refer to e.g. tent 2.

[2]  I experienced some strange behavior of the chat frame and the entire browser. E.g. it moved without invocation etc.  Could be my end, but thought I would mention it.  I was using MSIE 7 SP2.

[3]  An "EXPO website" for the vendors might be to consider, so that the EXPO webpage contains FreeBees, and other goodies beyond the actual Merchandise.

Maybe even a "FreeBee Tent", where visitors can checkout a list of "Actual" FreeBees i.e. no strings attached.

[4]  Like I suggested a while back, it would be nice to see The Country and Time Zone people are in, as discovered in the chat room.

Maybe a clickable map - which opens in a new window - to show th actually location.  See the feature in the GOOGLE homepage GEOIP, where the actual location on earth is shown, with the IP address as input (auto from ALP right).

Just to add some Useful yet fancy touch to the whole concept.

[5]  Add a ALP Tent, explaining some of the Neat Features in a Crisp 'n Clear fashion - ready to get into and utilize.  Maybe a profile of the ALP Crew available in the EXPOSmiley.

Guess thats what I have for now.  If you want me to elaborate or discuss some of the items, don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks again

Bent

Hi Michael,

I visited the expo and was quite impressed.  I truly thought you would have more exhibitors than we did though.

I clicked on all of the tents and visited everyone, just found that there could have been a bi more people in there with me and more linking direct to the exhibitors websites.

Great job for a first go at it  - Bret has some good suggestions for your next one.  I would think you could do this  maybe quarterly?  What time frame did you have in mind?

Judy

Hi Judy,

The next one is likely going to be in two weeks time.  That's the talk so far.

Chad.
