Yes, it does not hurt one bit to hug someone so good as Mary as many times as possible. It is rather refreshing and adoring especially when we consider the kind of selfless service she's hopping into. As you put it "Volunteering one's time to help others is such a wonderful gift, and so satisfying". I count it devine and blessed service.
