The meaning of the name SAMUEL;

SAMUEL

Gender: Masculine

Usage: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Biblical

Pronounced: SAM-yoo-el (English), SAM-yool (English)

From the Hebrew name שְׁמוּאֵל (Shemu'el) which could mean either "name of God" or "God has heard". Samuel was the last of the ruling judges in the Old Testament. He anointed Saul to be the first king of Israel, and later anointed David. A famous bearer was the American author Samuel Clemens, who wrote under the pen name Mark Twain.

Here is SAMI'S bio;

What a suprise and pleasant tidings! This is my first birthday gift and I cannot thank you and your tireless team enough for this least expected recognition.

Here's what I could put together as my bio:

I was born in a little town called Ikot Ekpene in south eastern Nigeria on the 18^th of June 1967. There I grew up more of a mommy’s son that dad’s. Yes, she was everything to me, mother, guardian angel, inspiration, good morals, friend, name it she was always there! I think it’s because she craved and prayed fervently for a son and gave birth to me at a ripe age of 55. Now you can tell the reason for my name, Samuel. I however had to leave her when I finished elementary school in my local village school to join my eldest brother in the city of Uyo. In 1988 I graduated with honours in Geology from University of Calabar.

From 1989 after my national service, I started experiencing the real meaning of life. I had to search for a befitting job for over three years without success within which I was involved in all sort of menial jobs to make ends meet. But my good old mom was always there for me providing all round support even when she was catching up with ageing and the biting poverty reminiscent of our unusual African setting.

Of course you must have already been aware that Nigeria, though the 7^th biggest global crude producer is rated among the poorest nations of the world with an astronomically high rate of unemployment. More than 70% of Nigerians are living in abject penury. This is forcing many youths here into all sorts of criminality: scam, fraud, kidnapping, robbery which in effect is denting the country’s international image. But I wouldn't say this is enough for the world to spite us!!!!!!!!

Well, I lost my sweet mother September 1992. It was one of the darkest moments of my life. She waited for me to arrive home from the city. That evening she held my hands, drew me to her side and whispered into my ears: “you can only live long if you respect elders and you can only live happily if you practice kindness and true love”. The next morning before daybreak she was gone to live with the Lord.

Well, I finally secured my first paid job in 1993 as a Mudlogging Geologist from where I gained experience in oil wellsite duties.
In 2004 I paired up with my friend, Banky to form MOSK GEOSCIENCES LTD where we are offering petroleum geological consultancy services to some oilfield operators in Nigeria. We are looking for technical partners who are stable in geo-business and ready to partner with us.

Internet/ Network business is far from gaining popularity in my country, which is why most of us are finding it difficult to break in. Not when we’re practically shut off from participating actively and successfully in the web. Most internet business operators turn-off their interest switch immediately you mention that name Nigeria. Check out most PPC outfits, online money operators like Paypal, Moneybookers, Clickbank, name them, you’ll discover you’re not qualified to participate if you’re a Nigerian. So what we do is have fun as much as we can especially when you’re lucky to be in the midst of great people like you all in Adlandpro where race, religion, age and gender are virtually inconsequential.

My private life? Ok!! I am married to my dear wife, Mee, but we’re yet to have our kids, however I am the ‘yummy uncle’ of tens of kids’ Yes I love and spend a lot of time with kids because they always remind me of what Heaven is all about and where to view true love and undefiled fun. Also I try to inspire the Disables, making then realize that there’s ability in every disability. That it is the will that wheels our ability.

My desire? To bring my friend and world inspirational icon – Nick Vujicic to Nigeria soon. I don't know how yet, but I'll do it!

Congatulations!!! I am very pleased to meet you. Since I say this post I have visited your profile, read your forum, posted there and ask to be a friend. All in one breath.

I read your profile with deep interest. I have a friend in Nigeria, and I know he has expereinced some of the same things you talk about. I have always had an interest in Africa. In my youth I studies many of the various countries in the region and always hoped they would find success and wealth in out modern world.

Congratulations Sam,

I have enjoyed your forum topics and must say that your biography brought back many memories good and bad of the 2 years I spent in the Congo as a Peace Corps Volunteer.

Life on the African Continent proposes many challenges for it's indigenous peoples that many in my country have difficulty understanding. Exploitation by the many outside powers has taken it's tole apon the African scene. I served with my wife from 1973 through 1975 and have a daughter born there named Veronica Malaika. I do long to return to Africa and in many ways have never really left in my heart.

Sam you keep up the good works and enjoy your week as our star. There are ay that enjoy our works here at ALP and we all look for many more aspects of your life and our world that will be sure the inspire much interesting thaught.

I love this that your Mother said to you, “you can only live long if you respect elders and you can only live happily if you practice kindness and true love”

She sounds like she was a wise woman and I understand your love for her and how deeply you were hurt when she went to her eternal resting place. Its never easy to lose those we love.
