PS The Stoics always have had a difficult things to discuss, i.e. "how many hair you have to pick up from someone`s head, to become bald? One ? .... No. Seven? ..... No .... Thirty six ? ...No .... LOL, how many?

The magic of atonement with all that is..... is the magic of oneness.

Your story is a beautiful example of this. It was a connection with all that is that brought about the simple yet powerful example of our connection to the one.

I have been on the mystical path many years and stories like your happen to me all the time. I read "Autobiography of a yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda, in the early 80's.... your introductory quote was a fond reminder.

Thanks for sharing the "beauty and connection of a moment" you shared with the gold beetle.

Of Farrah and Michael

It’s Thursday evening as I write this to you. In the background I am listening to CNN talking about the death of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett two people who lived their lives out loud indeed.

As I was listening to Larry King, he asked why someone like Farrah, who had everything, had to suffer so much and that set me thinking. I am moved to attempt to share my thoughts on the subject of death and ego and immortality.

What we all mourn at a time like this is not the being but the personality..the ego, that collection of thoughts, ideas, images and possessions that we accumulate as we separate out from the mist of oneness from which we came.

At first there is no separation, but we learn…we hear a name, used over and over and eventual that becomes something we identity with. We learn that mommy and daddy are different…have different names. We learn we have things that come with the name, like cloths and toys. We begin to form memories.

We are creating out of the mist something separate…different…something unique from other things. The birth of the ego.

As we live this accumulation of stuff which we call “I” grows, becomes more concrete.

We begin to understand mortality. We confuse our personality with who we truly are. Death becomes something to fear because it signifies an end…something we have real difficulty understanding because in truth we are immortal in the form of source.

Death is the gift that strips away the accumulation and allows us to return to the blissful state of oneness, peace, tranquility and joy.

Now we don’t look at it that way, and with all the modern wonders of the world TV, Video, Audio, Film we can artificially extend the idea of personality.

We can all still see Johnny Carson walking out onto the stage of the Tonight Show, or watch film of personalities long gone.

Ego cannot transcend the transformation. Only you can.

But we identify personality with being.

There are many out there who come to intimately understand that they are not the personality and from that understanding comes the tranquility and peace of the eternal: It enters within us and leaves us filled with joy.We call this many things, has many forms, and many manifestations in our world.

We make the mistake of cause and effect… or birth and death.

Did the ebb or the flow come first?

If we stand back from our personality, in a quiet spot, and absorb the stillness between the beats, we catch the breath of mystery, of life becoming death and death becoming life, until they blur and become the eternal now in which we all live beyond this veil of things.

The words continue to pour out of the TV…all about personality…all about all the accumulation, possessions, the images, the things…and nothing, not once in this hour or two, about things beyond the concrete walls of this universe, no understanding that both have made the transformation to another state of being, no celebration of the journey.

That is the sadness.

Both Farrah, and Michael, came forth into this physical existence and created on a level few of us ever get to experience. But we to come forth and create, feel, hurt, cry and experience the astounding joy of being that sparkles at our core and which has filled this world with so many manifestations of the mystery.

That is the inspiration.

That is the joy,

That is the mystery.

LESSON FROM MJ'S LIFE

Good morning Sam, May the peace of God which is beyond all human understanding be your portion this week in Jesus’ name.

It’s always so exciting when major news events sweep the world off its feet and somehow you find yourself being forced to stop, watch and listen.. as our thoughts are united in knowledge. It does not happen always... when it does it provides a tint of what we could achieve and enjoy if we could all come together as one... remember, we are the world...

Last week, the crowned ‘King of the Pops’, took the world by surprise by suddenly fading away....leaving behind a legacy of songs to the world... that would remain evergreen. Since his death, sales of his songs have boomed; history of good times has been relived, childhood memories have been dug up – somehow almost everyone has related some event to a one song or the other.

By Monday evening, BBC reported that MJ has topped the UK album chart and made six new entries in singles top 40...six years after his last number one! Earlier on Sunday his songs topped Apple's iTunes download charts in every country except Japan .

As I looked back and reviewed the stories on the life of MJ, I realised that indeed for whatever it was worth.... he knew his worth to the world and gave back his portion in songs and charity. His childhood may have been troubled and difficult; his adulthood somewhat mysterious; his habits questionable...his lifestyle a bit strange... yes... like every one of us he had his flaws... but amidst all... he gave almost everyone... all age categories...all race...all countries...all boundaries...at least a song!

So many tributes have been made to him all over the world, but the most touching for me was that by 1,581 orange-uniform clad inmates of a Cebu provincial jail in the Philippines... with jail terms running from one to ten years.... over murder, rape and drug crimes....who rocked the prison playground with MJ’s tunes carrying flags of most countries..... in a bizarre scene last Saturday.

One of my favourite MJ songs is ‘Heal the world’... here was a man who perpetually struggled to ‘heal’ himself... yet had a vision to heal the world... I note particularly this verse of that song....

Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep
Strangling Life
Wound This Earth
Crucify Its Soul
Though It's Plain To See
This World Is Heavenly

Shakespeare notes, ‘All the world is a stage, and all the men and women are merely players; they have their exits and their entrances...’, indeed we need to quickly discover our parts of the whole jig-saw puzzle and play it. MJ has played his part and the final curtains have fallen... it’s ironic to note that his planned concert tour in July 2009 of 50 gigs... which he personally tagged as ... ‘this is it’.... and described as the... ‘Final curtain call’... will never hold! May his soul, rest in peace.

This week... my prayer is for God in His mercy to help us discover or rediscover our gifts and talents, and provide the enablement to translate them into activities that would benefit mankind and leave behind a lasting legacy as we strive always to spread His love and salvation.

Be God’s Glow.... ‘And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews 13:16).
