Have you entered the blogosphere ?

There are millions of people keeping active blogs.

Bloggers often have a tendency to look at other bloggers’ blogs. When they see something they like, they will often link to it and put a comment.

This interlinking has developed into the blogoshere, i.e. all the linked blogs.

Many of the blog readers find a few bloggers in the blogosphere, which they like and build up relationships with those bloggers.

This shows the importance of blogs. A small group of bloggers can discuss a subject and this can be read by thousands of readers. Your blog could become a traffic magnet.

If you have a message or information to share, or links to websites or other blogs or your affiliate sites, or concerning internet marketing online, and so on, there is great potential for you to grow your success online via this powerful “tool.”

Whether you are a blogger or a blog reader, you will probably agree with me when I say that blogs are a pleasant and enjoyable way to share knowledge and information, and to learn about the world around you.

Are you blogging?

Here is the example of my newly started Wordpress blog, Angel Cuddle Publishing

This is hosted by www.successblognet.com, as part of my membership with Success Patrol (which I can highly recommend to you). Their conference room Wordpress training is so helpful and friendly, with step by step guidance which even the technically challenged can follow. It is free to join. The folks at Success Patrol have even added conference room times so that the people in other time zones can get to the training. That’s how caring they are.

Many people blog on Blogger.com. The reason for this is usually because Blogger.com is free and you can be blogging in just seconds. That is okay, but you are putting all your efforts into the hands of someone else. Blogger.com can shut you down on a whim, without giving you an explanation. Then all your hard work will be lost and you will not be very pleased!

That is where Wordpress is better, in that it is in your hands and therefore permanent unless you decide that you do not want it anymore, but it will be your decision. When you use Wordpress you are given instant access to a number of plugins that are not available at Blogger.com. These plugins help you to make your blog more search engine optimized, for example. This is essential if you are involved in internet marketing online.

Your Wordpress blog can be hosted on your own server. You do need your own hosting account for that which can be purchased quite cheaply. Or you can do what I’ve done. As I said above, as part of my membership with Success Patrol, my blog is hosted on their account, and I get all the training and help that I need too.

By the way, like Blogger.com, Wordpress do offer a free hosted service, but if you are serious about using your blog to build your business, and are looking at the long term continuation of your blog, then it is better to host the blog yourself on your server, or better still, to have the hosting taken care of by Success Patrol with all the support and teaching that entails.

I thoroughly enjoy blogging and learning as I enjoy this activity. What about you?

The trouble with me is that I can't sit there doing nothing.

Even in bed I'm doing exercises, reading, writing, knitting, thinking (brain never shuts down even when I want it to), giving myself Reiki or sending it to others......

A blog or two is a good way to release some of that 'creative' energy and share.

I have been doing tele conferences with the Blog Squad. They have said how great blogs can be for business. I agree, I have been getting new customers from my blog. Yeah!!

Your blog is great & I love that it is not just 1 advertiment as a post.

I fully agree that people need to take control of their blogs. I paid $9.97 for my domain name & registered it in our name no one can sell it out from under me (do not let a company or person register for you - then they have control). My hosting is great it is only $2.99 a month or $30 year. BJ skype chatted with us through the entire set up of getting my blog transfered & domain registration.

I also see that by starting with your own domain you are building the rank of your domain. You have to start at 0 hits no matter when you set up your domain so might as well start now. Even Cait (13 y/o)has her blog on her own domain so she can start building rank.

Cait & I run a B2Evo it is made by some of the guys that made the wordpress script.
Some people have not figured out the B3Evo blogs yet because you can add as many blogs as you want at 1 spot. I also run a rotating front blog because the search engines seem to love it. I have been critisized about my blog because it is 5 blogs in one. That is OK, it is working to get new customers & that is well worth all the grumping I hear.

I am not sure about word press but The B2evo has excellent stats in the back.

Thought I would drop in and see how your forum is doing, and I see you are getting a lively discussion going.

There are many blog programs out there, from free blogs to ones offering cheap hosting and domain names with an installed blog. There are many platforms, all with many features and that is a given. At Success Patrol while we are using a Word Press base, our blogs are optimized with many features and with successblognet we are indeed creating a network that is climbing in rankings quite fast.

Most large free blog networks are easy to use but it is very hard to get your posts seen.
Purchasing your own hosting and starting your own blog is great if you are ready to fuss with cpanel, ftp and installing your blog script. Mosts hosts and even the blog script authors will help, making this possable for everyone but it is a lot to deal with for the normal person.

As you are starting to learn Sarah, using blogs as a way to brand yourself as an expert in your niche is the only way to really create a lasting long time income.

I like the fact that you are starting to realize the importance of creating a conversation, much like what I am doing now, without advertising in anyway. Posting on anothers forum or blog should always stay relevant to the topic, and be professional at all times. It creates a credibility to onself and is certainly more informative to read.

A lot of people see blogs as basically a way of promoting links or having an online journel. The truth is most will only be seen by the few people they send to them anyway.
I believe that blogging should be a lot more, with good content, not blatent ads, a way of becoming an expert in your field creating your own search engine traffic with your origanal articles, and of course different ways to monetize. It can be a great way to create an income on line.

The point that I would emphasise, without repeating myself or you too much, is that you and the rest of the team are there to deal with the things that I get challenged with. This leaves me to get on with my passion, writing. I lied, I’m going to emphasise another point! You and the team show me how to get that writing seen and ranked etc. too.

You gave us a lot to think about in your contribution here.

You said that you liked the fact that my blog wasn’t just one advertisement for something. I don’t like the blogs that are just that. They are not at all subtle, and as blatant advertising, they tend to turn people away, which is, of course, the opposite effect to what the writer intends.

There are those who have a whole series of free blogs, all with the one blatant advertisement and this, to me is rather black hat stuff.

My other comment that I’d like to make about this is that a one advertisement blog only encourages other advertisements to be posted in comments, if they get any comments at all. I actually translated a blog posting for an online friend of mine very recently. He wrote in French and I translated it into English. He had a very interesting point to make about the topic of blatant advertising on other people’s blogs or forums. I’ll let you take a look for yourself here.

The other point I’d make about this is that a good blog is one with content and interesting topics. On the other hand, I believe that a blog shouldn’t be too ‘crowded.’ If there is too much on the page people will not want to spend the time reading it, as they are usually very busy people. A crowded blog or webpage is not pleasant to the eye. This is my opinion, of course and is not carved in stone!

I’m not familiar with the B2evo system, I must admit, but what I like about Wordpress is that it is easy to use and you can create new pages easily, which is like having multiple blogs, and it is just like having a website without getting too technical (if you get challenged like me). You have used some terms in your post that are not familiar to me. I don’t have to worry about that, because I have my Success Patrol team who deal with that for me, or instruct me, if I ask for explanations.

I want to concentrate on my passion, writing. The technical details and setting up of domains and cpanels and all that jazz, I can leave to my friends at Success Patrol that like to do that sort of thing and are good at it. I have every confidence in them.

I see that Scott has made some valuable comments on page 4 of this discussion about blogs and the Success Patrol system.

The last thing that I’ll say in this posting, is about internet marketing online and making money from your blogs. The chaps and chapesses at Success Patrol are constantly researching on our behalf to get our blogs, along with the system, highly ranked etc. as well as teaching us how to market using our blogs. This is a big aid.

Also, as our friend Thomas said to me in one of my other forums, quote

“I think Success Patrol is very useful with info put in by all to help you recognize your potential in marketing. Tim is a great business partner, I had fun personally to give him a showcase on his business, I knew from him way back his marketing skills but to actually have the privilege to be in the same company with him is awesome for me."

I see that we are both chocoholics!

You say "I consider this form of advertising the most creative, professional and affordable." I quite agree with you, but blogging is far more than that. An interesting blog with lots of info and content, lots of sharing is a platform for discussion for readers to get to know the author and to build relationships with the author. The author can prove themself as an expert in a certain field or niche etc.

There are no limits.

I like the look of your blog, by the way, and you have included some valuable info about one of my favourite subjects. My advice will seem bias, but it is to get another blog via Success Patrol and have all the backup and support that comes with it, as well as the marketing tips and valuable teaching.

One of the reasons for this would be so that you could have a "general" blog about chocolate for example, with lots of interesting content, without the blog being a direct advertisement to a particular chocolate or business. You could then link it to your other blogs or sites. At Success Patrol, our blogs are optimized with many features and with successblognet we are creating a network that is climbing in rankings quite fast.

Goodness ! After my holiday in England, I still haven’t completely caught up (will I ever?).

Some of you are new to blogging and others are very blogwise. I hope that we can share our experiences here for the benefit of each other.

At the beginning of this thread, I mentioned that I was building my blog via Tim Southernwood’s Success Patrol

(I have put a lot more content on my blog, by the way, if you want to take a look ).

Saturday’s training/conference session was excellent. I came away with lots of ideas on how to improve and monetize my blog. I know that some of you have expressed a wish to concentrate on making money via your writing. A blog is a good way of doing that.

Of course, there are thousands of people out there creating their blogs. You want to get your blog noticed, and to therefore be highly ranked on the search engines. You need to have links to and from your blog.

One way of enabling this monetization process is to post comments on other people’s blogs, preferably blogs that are connected to the same theme or niche as yours.

How do you find these blogs? Isn’t it time consuming?

Yes, it is time consuming, but at Saturday’s Success Patrol meeting, Tim shared a very useful program with us, which is just what the doctor ordered.

You simply type in some keywords or keyword phrases and the program finds and lists the blogs for you, that are associated with your keywords. The list of blogs appears. You click on each one and the blogs come up on your screen. You post on the blog.

So, the program finds the blogs and you post comments and include your blog link. This isn’t spamming. You post relevant info/comments onto blogs that you have read. You are not blasting blogs with spam, using a robot.

This very useful program can be downloaded for free at:

There is the free version which will find you 50 blogs associated with your keyword phrase or you can upgrade to receive more benefits and searches.

Glad you had a great holiday! I am sure you will get caught up in no time.

I find lots of blogs when I am on the WAHM forums many ladies have them in their sig line. I also use Google Blog Search
Sometimes you just have to sort through all the splash page ad blogs.

The problem is that if they are using blogspot, blogger, WP, typepad.....Then you can not leave a link back to your blog without actually posting it in the message. If you are part of that blogging community then your name will link to your blog (profile) there. Since I run independently there is little reason for me to comment on these blogs. I would have to join the community & I sure do not have time for another blog. LOL! It looks as if yours is the same but, I am not positive.

I do see many hits coming from other (independent) blogs where I have commented. Some of those are coming from blogs about blogging. I figure if someone is reading about how to blog then they are likely to be looking at other blogs to get ideas.

I have lovely memories and the photos to remind me of our hol. No worries on that score! The girls keep talking about it too, so I'm surrounded.

I usually try to subtlely leave a link in my message. Busy people may not get down to the sig line!

I have bought my domain and will be doing a blog with the website when I have set it up, once I have my hosting with Success Patrol.

There are only so many hours in the day and blogging is not my only activity, and above all, I want my blogging to be fun. Writing is my passion and blogging is a way of me expressing myself and being read (and making some money at the same time). I'm going at my pace and enjoying life in the blogosphere.

My point about the Fastblogfinder is that it saves me time, by finding blogs for me that are relevant to my blog. You also post a comment on those blogs there and then, within the program.

I know all about the lack of time.

Got so many ideas in my head and in notebooks etc but not enough time to get it all done.

I've also been setting up my business and so on.

It all takes time.

Hello fellow bloggers!

Been so busy that I haven't managed to get here much lately.

I actually lost my blog that I showed you before, but I had saved the posts and pages so I will let you know when my free blog with Success Patrol is going again.

There's a tip there for you. Remember to backup your websites and blogs, in case something happens. Do it regularly.

One reason why I haven't had time to come here is because I was working on few sites and blogs.

I paid to upgrade in Success Patrol and they provided me with a domain name (which was chosen by me after research and help and discussion with the Success Patrol team) and a word press blog and hosting with cpanel. I found a theme that pleased me and then set to work to adapt it and put on my own graphic in the header and so on.

As I said earlier on in this thread, it is better for you to have your own blog on your own domain. It is not yet finished but you can see what I've done so far on that blog here:

I was not at all familiar with Word press or cpanel, but am learning as I go along. I've been making notes so that I can do it over and over again.

In fact, I started up another blog on one of my other domains and made it the index page of the site.

I'm being creative and learning as I go along. When I get stuck, I cry "help!" to Diane and Tim at Success Patrol or I go to the training conferences and learn some more there.

I got an advertising deal sent to me last night by the Blog Squad (professional bloggers). I immediately sent them a note & ask if I could post the info on my blog & they said yes.
